The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Souffelweyersheim (8-2) in Souffel. on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Quimper UJAP (7-3) 56-52. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Souffelweyersheim. Souffelweyersheim was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 9-3 charge of Quimper UJAP, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Souffelweyersheim to just 3 points in fourth quarter. It was a great evening for Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Florian Thibedore (193-90) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. Guard Frederic Minet (188-81) responded with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Quimper UJAP moved-up to fourth place. Souffelweyersheim at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Cognac. Quimper UJAP are looking forward to face Vendee Challans (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Souffelweyersheim will play against the league's leader Orchesien BC (#1) in Orchies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-10) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to eighth ranked Sorgues (5-4) 97-59. It was an exceptional evening for American-Italian swingman Ryan Zamroz (192-87, college: Master's) who led the winners and scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Julien Doreau accounted for 14 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Damien Inglis (203-95) came up with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for CFBB in the defeat. CFBB's coach Jacques Commeres gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Sorgues have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place. CFBB at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Sorgues will play against La Rochelle (#8) at home in the next round. CFBB will play against Chartres (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

The best player for the winners was Slobodan Ocokoljic who scored 28 points and 8 rebounds. Pierre Brochard produced 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Rueil moved-up to tenth place. Blois lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Rueil will meet higher ranked Angers BC 49 (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blois will play against Cognac and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 11: Monaco lost to Cognac on the opponent's court 77-85. St Chamond unfortunately lost to Orchy in a home game 64-70. Challans managed to beat Rennes on the road 83-75. Vichy defeated Angers BC 49 on its own court 64-51.


Cognac - Monaco 85-77

Very expected game when 11th ranked Monaco (3-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Cognac (8-2) 85-77 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-18. But Monaco won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Cognac won last quarter 26-19. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Ian Caskill (207-81, college: JMU) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Serbian forward Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) chipped in 22 points. Guard guard Anthony Christophe (190-83) (190-83) produced 12 points and 8 assists and guard guard Anthony Christophe (190-83) (190-83) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Monaco's coach Jean-Michel Senegal rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Saint Chamond's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Orchesien BC. They keep a position of league leader. Saint Chamond lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Rennes and Challans. Orchesien BC will meet at home league's second-placed Souffelweyersheim in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Souffel - Quimper 52-56

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Souffelweyersheim (8-2) in Souffel. on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Quimper UJAP (7-3) 56-52. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Souffelweyersheim. Souffelweyersheim was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 9-3 charge of Quimper UJAP, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Souffelweyersheim to just 3 points in fourth quarter. It was a great evening for Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Florian Thibedore (193-90) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. Guard Frederic Minet (188-81) responded with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Senegalese swingman Mouhamadou M'Bodji (193-81) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Quimper UJAP moved-up to fourth place. Souffelweyersheim at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Cognac. Quimper UJAP are looking forward to face Vendee Challans (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Souffelweyersheim will play against the league's leader Orchesien BC (#1) in Orchies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

BC Boncourt Red Team (LNA) added to their roster 25-year old French forward Alioune Tew (206-98kg-92). He just graduated from Niagara (NCAA). Tew has played there for the last three years.
