Union Hainaut celebrated the road win over Gorizont in the first game of the EuroCup eighth-final series. Laura Garcia (176-G-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) knocked down 20 points to pace the French team in Minsk. Gorizont dominated in every facet of the game in the first quarter. The Belarusian team jumped to a 21:6 lead ten minutes into the game. But Union Hainaut stopped the rot in the second quarter. The visitors cut the deficit by two points to trail by 13 points at the interval 23:36. Union Hainaut stressed their defence in the third term and got within 5 points with one period remaining. Stefanie Murphy (192-F/C-89, college: Boston Coll.) and Laura Garcia tied things up at 49 early in the fourth quarter. Gorizont surged back in charge as Valko made it 56:54 for the hosts with under two minutes remaining. But Perostiyska and Stefanie Murphy put Union Hainaut ahead with four points in a row. Kristina Alikina (187-F-86, agency: LBM Management) tied thing up at 58 with a jumper however Amanda Jackson (178-G/F-85, college: Miami, OH) sank a late jumper to win the game for Union Hainaut. Stefanie Murphy delivered 17 points, while Amanda Jackson added 14 points for the winning side. Kristina Alikina answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds for Gorizont. Galina Shylovich (182-F-91) and Tatsiana Likhtarovich (180-G/F-88, agency: LBM Management) netted 12 points each in the loss.
