The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, few extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Orchesien BC (9-2) on the court of fourth ranked Quimper UJAP on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Quimper UJAP in overtime 86-79. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Orchesien BC. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Orchesien BC trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 28-17 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 11-18. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds. Spanish point guard Carlos Cherry (184-79, agency: Global Sports Plaza) contributed with 19 points and 11 assists for the winners. Serbian power forward Djordje Petrovic (204-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for Orchesien BC. Orchesien BC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quimper UJAP have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Cognac and Souffel. Orchesien BC at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Quimper UJAP is looking forward to face Monaco (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Orchesien BC will play against Vendee Challans (#15) and is hoping to win this game.

In the last two games of round 13 Chartres was beaten by La Rochelle on the road 75-69. St Chamond destroyed Blois on its own court 91-68. Sorgues unfortunately lost to Vichy in a road game 75-82. Souffel managed to beat Monaco at home 79-76. Angers BC 49 was defeated by Cognac on the opponent's court 61-76.
The most impressive performance of 13th round was 31 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by El Kabir Pene of Rennes.

La Rochelle - Chartres 75-69

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked La Rochelle (6-6) beat at home 11th ranked Chartres (4-7) 75-69 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chartres won third quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American forward Jarryd Cole (204-88, college: Iowa) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). British forward Andrew Thomson (205-84, college: Catawba) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Serbian center Ljubomir Avramovic (201-79) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Julien Sauret (184-81) added 19 points in the effort for Chartres. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Rochelle moved-up to eighth place. Loser Chartres keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. La Rochelle will face Union Rennes (#12) on the road in the next round. Chartres will play against JA Vichy.

St Chamond - Blois 91-68

There was an upset when higher ranked Blois (7-4) was smashed on the road by fifteenth ranked Saint Chamond (4-8) 91-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Saint Chamond. Blois was better in third quarter 25-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. Saint Chamond looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for naturalized DR Congolese guard Jean-Paul Landu-Bongo (187-85) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds. Latvian swingman Ingus Bankevics (195-85, agency: Players Group) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. Saint Chamond's coach Alain Thinet felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Finnish forward Ville Kaunisto (205-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds and guard Gary Staelens (189-84) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Blois. Saint Chamond moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Blois keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Saint Chamond will face higher ranked Angers BC 49 (#13) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked JA Vichy's (8-4) home victory over 7th ranked Sorgues (6-5) 82-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-75. JA Vichy outrebounded Sorgues 40-19 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for American power forward Justin Reynolds (204-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Rida El Amrani (180-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American-Italian swingman Ryan Zamroz (192-87, college: Master's) answered with 19 points and point guard Arnaud Thinon (178-87) added 16 points and 4 steals in the effort for Sorgues. JA Vichy have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Sorgues keeps the seventh position with five games lost. JA Vichy will face Chartres (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sorgues will play against Rueil (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Monaco (4-6) was edged by second ranked Souffelweyersheim (9-3) in Souffel. 79-76 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-20. But Monaco won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Souffelweyersheim made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Souffelweyersheim outrebounded Monaco 43-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for forward Jerome Cazenobe (202-89) who helped to win the game recording 7 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Frederic Broliron (193-79) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Anthony Christophe (190-83) answered with 16 points and 9 assists and Serbian-Bosnian center Nemanja Calasan (205-85, college: Purdue) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Monaco. Everything went according to plan when third ranked Cognac (9-3) defeated at home 11th ranked Angers BC 49 (4-7) 76-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cognac. Angers BC 49 was better in second period 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Cognac outrebounded Angers BC 49 42-28 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Angers BC 49 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Sadio Doucoure (195-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. Jean-Philippe Ludon (200-83) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Algerian point guard Ahmed Fellah (180-81) added 7 points, 7 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Angers BC 49.
