Top ranked Lattes Montpellier (14-2) recorded its second loss in Saint-Amand on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fourteenth ranked Union Hainaut (4-12) 66-60. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Lattes Montpellier. Lattes Montpellier was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Nigerian-American Ify Ibekwe (187-89, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Croatian center Petra Stampalija (189-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 11 points and 9 assists. The former international forward Geraldine Robert (183-80) produced 8 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Union Hainaut moved-up to thirteenth place. Lattes Montpellier at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Union Hainaut are looking forward to face higher ranked Toulouse (#9) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lattes Montpellier will play against Villeneuve D'Ascq (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
The game in Toulouse was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Perpignan (11-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Toulouse (7-9). Perpignan managed to secure a 6-point victory 74-68. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian point guard Iva Ciglar (168-85, agency: Data Plus Group) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. Diandra Tchatchouang contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Serbian forward Adrijana Knezevic (185-87) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds for Toulouse. Perpignan have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bourges. Toulouse lost sixth consecutive game. Toulouse at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Mondeville. Perpignan will play against Tarbes (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Toulouse will play against Union Hainaut in Saint-Amand and hopes to get back on the winning track.

At the losing side Olivia Epoupa responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Nantes Reze moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Landes. Nantes Reze will meet higher ranked Lyon (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Basket Landes will play against Charleville-Mezieres and hope to secure a win.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Arras. Local Arras (3-13) was outscored by second ranked Bourges (11-4) 74-45. The winners were led by Catherine Joens who scored that evening 24 points and 5 rebounds. Arras' coach Marc Silvert gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains second position with 11-4 record having four points less than leader Lattes Montp., which they share with Perpignan. Arras lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Bourges' next round opponent will be Aix-en-Provence (#12) in Les Milles and are hoping to win another game. Arras will play on the road against Mondeville.

Rest of the games of round 16 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Lyon defeated Charleville in a road game 57-42. Aix-en-Provence was beaten by Villeneuve at home 79-86. Mondeville lost to Tarbes on the opponent's court 66-78.
The best stats of 16th round was 16 points and 19 rebounds by Angelica Robinson of Tarbes.


Toulouse - Perpignan 68-74

The game in Toulouse was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Perpignan (11-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Toulouse (7-9). Perpignan managed to secure a 6-point victory 74-68. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 7-point deficit before their 22-9 run, which allowed them to win the game. Perpignan outrebounded Toulouse 37-25 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian point guard Iva Ciglar (168-85, agency: Data Plus Group) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. Point guard Pauline Lithard (168-PG-94) had an amazing evening in the last round for Bretagne Basket, receiving a Eurobasket.com LF2 Player of the Week award for round 1. The 22-year old player was the main contributor (19 points, two rebounds and six assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Roannais (#14, 0-1) 70-60.
