Nantes Reze made a strong bid for EuroCup semifinal appearance. The French team outgunned MBK Ruzomberok on the road tonight in the first leg of the quarterfinal series. Yuliya Andreyeva (188-SF-83) came up with 16 points to pace the winning team. Nantes Reze trailed by the most part of the first quarter before Mircheva drained a three-pointer to give the visitors a 14:13 lead at the first break. Nantes Reze maintained the advantage throughout the second quarter. The visitors enjoyed a 32:28 halftime advantage. MBK Ruzomberok used a 6:0 run late in the third quarter to spur ahead for a 40:38 lead. However Isis Arrondo (166-PG-89) capped the period with a three-pointer to make it 43:42 in favour of Nantes. Yuliya Andreyeva and Isis Arrondo opened the fourth frame with back-to-back triples. But MBK Ruzomberok stayed hopeful cutting the deficit at 2-point mark 49:51. Isis Arrondo and Yuliya Andreyeva stepped up with five consecutive points and this time Nantes ran away for good. Isis Arrondo finished with 14 points, while Marielle Amant (190-F/C-89) had 8 points for the winning team. Nadia Parker (191-C-87, college: USC) responded with 13 points for MBK Ruzomberok. Katarina Tetemondova (188-F-88) nailed 10 points for the hosts.

Angers have entered the market. The LFB newcomers tabbed Soana Lucet (186-F-87, college: Arizona). The New Caledonian forward spent the last season in Belgium. She played for Castors Braine. Soana Lucet posted 11.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in Division I. The forward earned All-Belgian League Honourable Mention. Soana Lucet started 2011/12 season with Arras.
