Arras - Familia Schio 69:57

Arras shock Familia Schio in France for the initial win at the EuroLeague 2012/2013 campaign. The French side improved to 1-8 record after a 69:57 victory.
It looked good early as Familia Schio took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Arras had a 21-6 second period charge getting the lead and Familia Schio was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57:69. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Familia Schio to just 6 points in second quarter. It was an exceptional evening for Sandra Dijon (193-C-79) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Olesia Malashenko (189-PF-91, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Jantel Lavender (190-C-88, college: Ohio St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and Danielle McCray (186-SG-87, college: Kansas) added 16 points respectively for Familia Schio in the defeat. Arras maintains seventh place in Group B with 1-8 record. Familia Schio at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost.
Arras' next round opponent will be Fenerbahce in Istanbul and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Familia Schio will play at home against the Good Angels and will have a slim chance for a victory.

24-year old forward Katherine Plouffe (190-F-92) had an amazing evening in the last round for Nantes and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 21. She had a double-double of 29 points and 14 rebounds, while her team beat Nice (#9, 9-12) 80-71. Nantes is placed at 7th position in French LFB. DR Congolese Center Bernadette Ngoyisa (195-C-82) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Roche, receiving a Eurobasket.com LF2 Player of the Week award for round 22. The 34-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds, while her team beat Roannais (#11, 6-16) 63-49. Roche maintains the 2nd position in French LF2. There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in LFB. Round 21 most important game was a victory of Nantes Reze over 7th ranked Nice 80-71 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nice. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-71.
