Russell
Carter
American guard Russell Carter (196-G-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Orchy, receiving a Eurobasket.com NM1 Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Angers BC 49 (#12, 5-10) with 23-point margin 88-65. It allowed Orchy to consolidate first place in the French NM1. Orchy have a solid 12-3 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Carter as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Russell Carter averages this season 11.0ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Damien Inglis (203-PF-95) of CFBB. Inglis had a very good evening with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as CFBB lost that game 68-90 to the higher-ranked Vichy (#4, 11-4). CFBB are still at the very bottom. 15 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Inglis is one of the most experienced players at CFBB and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.3ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 8.1rpg and 3.8apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Justin Reynolds (204-F/C-88) of Vichy (#4). Reynolds scored 14 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Vichy, leading his team to a 90-68 easy win against CFBB (#16, 0-15). Vichy needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 4 lost games. Reynolds has a very solid season. In 14 games in France he scored 12.9ppg. He also has 5.5rpg and FGP: 57.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Michel Ipouck (199-F-86) of Chartres - 16 points and 10 rebounds
5. Jarryd Cole (204-F-88) of La Rochelle - 22 points and 5 rebounds
6. Samir Mekdad (188-PG-86) of Challans - 19 points and 6 rebounds
7. Ville Kaunisto (205-F-82) of Blois - 15 points and 10 rebounds
8. Olivier Gouez (217-C-84) of Orchy - 18 points
9. Charly Pontens (189-G-95) of CFBB - 21 points and 3 rebounds
10. Mehdi Labeyrie-Hafsi (203-F/C-78) of Monaco - 17 points and 3 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

NM1 Round 19 of Regular Season - 17 hours ago
The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Fifth defeat of league's leader Souffelweyersheim (14-5) against fourth ranked Caen (13-6) 77-73 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Souffelweyersheim won fourth quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and g...   [read more]
