MBK Ruzomberok became the first team to reach EuroCup semifinals. They fired past Nantes Reze in France tonight to overcome a six-point deficit after the first leg of the quarterfinal series. Nadia Parker (191-C-87, college: USC) came up with impressive 28 points to lead MBK Ruzomberok to a decisive victory.
Nantes Reze seemed in control of their fate in the opening stage of the game. The hosts gained a 20:15 lead after the starting quarter and an 11-point advantage on aggregate. But the things started to turn MBK Ruzomberok way in the second quarter. The visitors went on a 26:14 run to secure a 41:34 halftime lead. The Slovakian team stretched the lead in the third term. The visitors held Nantes to 8 points in the period to secure a massive 19-point lead heading into the fourth frame. MBK Ruzomberok limited the hosts to 15 points in the final quarter and sealed a comprehensive win at the end. Katarina Tetemondova (188-F-88) delivered 13 points for the winners. Marielle Amant (190-F/C-89) answered with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Nantes Reze. Yuliya Andreyeva (188-SF-83) chipped in 11 points in the losing case.
