We bring you last week's top performances from French who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Tony Parker (188-82, currently plays in NBA). He led San Antonio Spurs to a victory over the Atlanta Hawks (23-18) 98-93 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. Parker was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 23 points and making 12 passes. Parker also added 4 rebounds in 33 minutes on the court. The San Antonio Spurs have a solid 33-11 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Parker's 12th year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Parker averages: 19.7ppg, 2.9rpg, 7.3apg, 2FGP: 53.0%, 3FGP: 39.2% and FT: 82.4% in the 42 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the French senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international small forward Nicolas Batum (203-88, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Batum could not help the Portland Trail Blazers (20-21) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the Portland Trail Blazers were defeated 93-88 on the road by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Batum recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds. This season Batum has very high stats. He averages: 16.7ppg, 6.0rpg, 4.5apg, 1.1bpg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 50.4%, 3FGP: 35.8% and FT: 86.6%. Batum is in the roster of the French senior national team.

   #3. The French player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Joakim Noah (211-85, college: Florida, currently plays in NBA). He contributed to an overtime Chicago Bulls' victory against the Toronto Raptors (15-26) 107-105 in the NBA on Wednesday night. Noah had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 4 assists in 48 minutes. The Chicago Bulls have 24-16 record this season. Noah is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his sixth year in Bulls' roster. Noah has very impressive stats this season: 12.2ppg, 10.7rpg, 4.0apg, 2.1bpg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 45.7% and FT: 78.4% in the 39 games. He is a naturalized American. Noah played for the French national team two years ago. Strangely he has never played in France.

   #4. Power forward Boris Diaw (203-82, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Tony Parker. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Diaw contributed to an easy victory against the Memphis Grizzlies (26-14) crushing them 103-82. He scored 14 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The San Antonio Spurs have a solid 33-11 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Diaw's overall stats this season are: 5.8ppg, 3.8rpg and 2.6apg. He is also French national team player.

International forward Yakhouba Diawara (201-82, college: Pepperdine, currently plays in Italy) was the main contributor in an Umana Venezia's victory against the closely-ranked Cantu (11-5) 83-79 in the Italian SerieA last Sunday. Diawara was the best player in that game. He recorded 29 points (!!!) and grabbed 9 rebounds (made all of his six free throws) in 37 minutes. Umana Reyer Venezia (8-8) is placed seventh in the SerieA. It's Diawara's first season with the team. Diawara has relatively good stats this year: 14.1ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.1spg in the 15 games. He plays currently for the French national team.

   #6. Center Kevin Seraphin (206-89, currently plays in NBA) was the major contributor in a Washington Wizards' victory against the Denver Nuggets (25-18) 112-108 in the NBA on Friday night. Seraphin recorded 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The Washington Wizards have not so impressive 9-30 record this season. This year Seraphin has very high stats. He averages: 11.2ppg and 5.2rpg. Seraphin is an international player who is currently on the senior French National Team roster.

Former U20 international forward Aaron Cel (203-87, currently plays in Poland) contributed to a 2-point PGE Turow's victory against the fifth-ranked Trefl Sopot (11-6) 77-75 in the Polish TBL in Friday night's game. He was the top player that evening. Cel scored 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 24 minutes. PGE Turow Zgorzelec (13-4) is placed first in the TBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Cel is ranked fifth on the list of the best rebounders in the league with 7.7rpg. He also averaged so far 11.4ppg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg in the 17 games. Cel used to play for the French U20 national team six years ago.

Center Ronny Turiaf (208-83, agency: Priority Sports, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Los Angeles Clippers' victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves (17-21) 90-77 in the NBA last Thursday. He scored 11 points. The Los Angeles Clippers have a solid 32-11 record this season. Turiaf's overall stats this year are: 2.2ppg and 2.5rpg. He plays currently for the French national team.

International small forward Mickael Gelabale (201-83, agency: Three Eye Sports, currently plays in NBA) helped Minnesota Timberwolves win their game against the Houston Rockets (22-21) 92-79 in the NBA in Saturday night's game.    #11. Former international shooting guard Evan Fournier (199-92, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Denver Nuggets in their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA. Fournier scored 9 points and added 3 assists. His team were badly defeated by 20 points 117-97 in the NBA. This season Fournier averages only 3.5ppg. He used to play for the French national team two years ago.

   #12. Former international forward Tariq Kirksay (199-79, college: Iona, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB was not able to secure a victory for Asefa Estudiantes (9-9) in their last game. Despite Kirksay's good performance Asefa Estudiantes lost 79-84 in Tenerife to the lower-ranked (#12) CB Canarias. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 11 rebounds in 31 minutes. Kirksay belongs to league's most steals and is ranked #3 with 1.8spg. He also averaged so far 10.6ppg, 5.6rpg and 2.4apg in the 18 games. Kirksay is a naturalized American. He used to play for the French national team back in 2008. Kirksay played also for Mulhouse in French league.

   #13. Former U20 international guard Thomas Heurtel (188-89, currently plays in Euroleague) is a teammate of previously mentioned Fabien Causeur and both played together in the last Euroleague game. Heurtel managed to help Caja Laboral Vitoria to win against the seventh-ranked Fenerbahce Ulker crushing them 97-75. He recorded only 4 points and added 6 passes. Heurtel's total stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 4.1apg. He used to play for the French U20 national team four years ago.

   #14. Former international power forward Ian Mahinmi (206-86, currently plays in NBA) helped Indiana Pacers win their game against the Charlotte Bobcats crushing them 103-76 in the NBA on Tuesday night. Mahinmi recorded only 4 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in 15 minutes. This year his total stats are: 5.2ppg and 3.9rpg in the 42 games. Mahinmi used to play for the French national team back in 2011.

   #15. International forward Florent Pietrus (202-81, currently plays in Eurocup) helped his Spanish team Valencia Basket win their game against the third-ranked CEZ Nymburk 82-77 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. He scored 7 points (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). Pietrus has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 3.6rpg. He is also in the roster of the French national team.


The list of other players, who all have French passport but never been selected to any of French national teams:

   #1. Afik Nissim (186-PG-81, currently plays in Israel), who plays in the Israeli Winner League could not help Hapoel Eilat (9-5) in their last game. Despite Nissim's very good performance Hapoel Eilat lost 87-96 on the road to the lower-ranked (#3) Maccabi Haifa. He was the second best scorer with 20 points. Nissim also added made 3 passes and 5 steals in 30 minutes. This year Nissim's overall stats are: 9.6ppg, 2.1rpg, 3.4apg and 1.4spg in the 14 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: French and Israeli.

   #2. Bandja Sy (203-F, currently plays college basketball in the States) led N.Mexico St. to an easy victory against the San Jose State University (3-3) 70-53 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Sy recorded 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The New Mexico State University has a solid 6-2 conference record this season. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Sy has been at the team for four years. He has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 3.6rpg. Sy is another player who holds two passports: Mali and French.

   #3. Kim Tillie (210-F-88, agency: Priority Sports, college: Utah, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help UCAM Murcia (24-6) in their game against Cajasol (7-11) in the Spanish ACB. He scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in only 14 minutes. his team lost 73-81 at home to the much lower-ranked (#13) Cajasol. Tillie has averaged so far 7.5ppg and 3.8rpg in the 18 games. He has both Dutch and French nationalities.

   #4. Antonin Galaya (196-G, currently studies in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Howard University (1-5) crushing them 71-36 in the NCAA last Monday. Galaya scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The N.Carolina Central has 4-0 conference record this season. So far his team won all four games in the conference. Galaya has averaged so far 7.5ppg and 3.8rpg. He also holds two passports: U.S. Virgin Islands and French.

   #5. Mikael Maruotto (203-F/G-91, currently plays in Switzerland) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Starwings (3-12) crushing them 104-52 in the Swiss LNA last Saturday. Maruotto scored 10 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 19 minutes. Lions de Geneve (11-4) is placed second in the LNA. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Maruotto has averaged so far 7.7ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.7apg in the 15 games. He holds both French and Swiss passports.

   #6. John Wilkins (206-G-89, is currently at the American university), who plays in the NCAA was not able to secure a victory for the Illinois St. (0-6) in their last game. Despite Wilkins' good performance the Illinois St. lost 62-74 in Wichita, KS to the Wichita State University. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 27 minutes. Wilkins has averaged so far 7.7ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.7apg in the 15 games. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Wilkins has never played in France.

   #7. Alfredo Ott (193-G-83, college: Dillard, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Palencia Baloncesto's victory against the eighth-ranked Leyma Basquet 69-63 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Friday. He scored 7 points. Ott has averaged so far 9.4ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.4spg. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Ott has never played in France.

   #8. Mari Konate (203-F-88, college: McNeese St., currently plays in Baltic League) couldn't help Naglis Palangos in their game against Rudupis in the Baltic League. He scored 6 points in 31 minutes. His team lost 79-93. Konate has averaged so far 8.7ppg and 5.0rpg in the seven games.

   #9. Experienced David Fergerson (185-G-78, agency: Interperformances, college: St.Louis, currently plays in Switzerland) managed to help Lugano Tigers to win against the closely-ranked Boncourt 89-78 in the Swiss LNA in Saturday night's game. He scored 5 points and added 5 assists. Fergerson has averaged so far 6.8ppg, 1.9rpg, 3.3apg and 1.5spg. He is a naturalized American. Fergerson used to play for Reims Champagne Basket in French league.

   #10. Sylvere Bryan (208-C-81, also represented by Interperformances, college: Tampa, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help VL Pesaro in their game against Lottomatica Roma in the Italian SerieA. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Bryan recorded only 2 points. His team was edged 65-64. Bryan has averaged so far 2.9ppg and 2.8rpg. He has French and Italian nationalities.

Defending champion ES Chalon-Sur-Saone (ProA) agreed terms with 24-year old swingman Bastien Pinault (195-93). He has played for the last two seasons at ALM Evreux Basket in the ProB. In 39 games he had 9.0ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.0apg last season. Pinault helped them to make it to the semifinals. He played in the final of French ProB Play-Offs in 2016. JDA Dijon Bourgogne (ProA) landed 22-year old American point guard J.J. Frazier (178-155kg-95). He just graduated from Georgia (NCAA). Frazier has played there for the last four years. In 34 games he averaged impressive 18.8ppg, 3.8rpg, 4.1apg and 1.9spg last season. Le Mans Sarthe Basket (ProA) signed 32-year old American small forward Mykal Riley (198-84kg-85, college: Alabama). He has played for the last four seasons at JSF Nanterre (ProA). The last season Riley played also at JSF Nanterre where in 36 ProA games he had 7.9ppg, 4.7rpg, 2.1apg and 1.3spg. He helped them to win the cup.
