Fenerbahce - Arras 81:75

Fenerbahce escaped with the win over Arras at the EuroLeague Wednesday action. Fenerbahce added another victory to their record as they beat seventh ranked French Arras in Istanbul 81:75.
The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81:75. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Arras' players. It was a good game for Angel McCoughtry (187-SF-86, college: Louisville) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ivana Matovic (197-C-83) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Dawn Evans (170-PG-89, agency: LBM Management, college: JMU) replied with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Olesia Malashenko (189-PF-91, agency: LBM Management) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Arras.
Fenerbahce will face Good Angels in Kosice in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Arras will play at home against CSM Targoviste and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Fenerbahce: Ivana Matovic 22, Angel McCoughtry 17+12rebs, Birsel Vardarli (175-G-84) 16, Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-C-87) 11

Katherine Plouffe claims French LFB weekly honour - 2 days ago
Canadian Katherine Plouffe (190-F-92) had a great game in the last round for Nantes and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14. The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 19 points and fourteen rebounds, while her team beat Mondeville (#6, 7-7) 64-55. Nantes maintains the 8th position in French LFB. Nantes is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their...   [read more]

French LF2 round 13 best performance: Natalie Day - 2 days ago
U.S. Virgin Islands-American Swingman Natalie Day (182-G/F-90) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Limoges, receiving a Eurobasket.com LF2 Player of the Week award for round 13. The 26-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds, while her team edged out Aulnoye (4-9) 75-71. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Limoges is placed at 10th position in French LF2. Limoges is rather a...   [read more]
