John Flowers
American John Flowers (200-F-89, agency: KMG Sports Management) had an amazing evening in the last round for Denain and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com ProB Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 23-year old forward had the game-high 31 points adding seven rebounds and four assists for Denain in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Maurienne (#9, 11-10) in overtime 87-86. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on the top of the standings. Denain maintains the 16th position in French ProB. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Denain have already lost 15 games and recorded just six victories. In the team's last game Flowers had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Denain's top player in his first season with the team. West Virginia University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Flowers is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.4ppg) and averages solid 2.2spg and 50.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old American point guard Austen Rowland (186-PG-81, agency: Court Side) of Boulogne. Rowland impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course he lead Boulogne to another comfortable win 101-83 over the lower-ranked St Quentin (#11, 10-11) being unquestionably team leader. Boulogne's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Rowland is a newcomer at Boulogne and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Wilbert Brown (200-PF-84, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) of Maurienne (#9). Brown got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds . Despite Brown's great performance Maurienne lost 86-87in overtime to the lower-ranked Denain (#16, 6-15). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Maurienne needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 11 victories and 10 lost games. Brown has a great season in France. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.1ppg (best scorer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-F-84) of Charleville - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Sherman Gay (201-PF-82) of Le Portel - 22 points and 8 rebounds
6. Jeremiah Wood (200-C/F-85) of Evreux - 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Jason Fontenet (178-PG-82) of Antibes - 24 points and 8 assists
8. Wendell McKines (198-F-88) of Rouen - 17 points and 11 rebounds
9. Justin Burrell (206-F-88) of Chalons-Reims - 24 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Moses Sonko (197-F-83) of Bourg - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
