The game between third ranked Quimper UJAP (14-6) and sixth ranked La Rochelle (13-8) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Quimper UJAP was defeated by La Rochelle in La Rochelle 73-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Quimper UJAP. The game without a history. La Rochelle led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. La Rochelle forced 20 Quimper UJAP turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Jarryd Cole (204-88, college: Iowa) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Naturalized Madagascar swingman Amy M'Boma (199-83) helped adding 24 points. Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Newly promoted La Rochelle maintains sixth place with 13-8 record. Quimper UJAP at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Cognac and Souffel. La Rochelle are looking forward to face league's second-placed Orchesien BC in Orchies in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimper UJAP will play at home against the league's leader JA Vichy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Octavio Da Silveira accounted for 13 points. Guard Frederic Broliron (193-79) came up with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Souffelweyersheim in the defeat. JA Vichy maintains first place with 16-5 record. Souffelweyersheim at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Cognac and Quimper. JA Vichy will play against Quimper UJAP (#5) on the road in the next round. Souffelweyersheim will play against Rueil and hopes to get back on the winning track.

CFBB will play against Monaco (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Fourteenth-ranked Vendee Challans (6-14) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Cognac (14-6). Cognac managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. Dejan Sencanski orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Cognac moved-up to third place, which they share with Quimper and Souffel. Vendee Challans at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Cognac's next round opponent will be Saint Chamond (#13) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Vendee Challans will play against Sorgues.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 23: St Chamond lost to Rueil on the opponent's court 79-90. Chartres managed to outperform Angers BC 49 in a home game 69-58. Blois managed to beat Rennes on the road 65-51. Monaco defeated Sorgues on its own court 82-68.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks by Daviin Davis of Blois.


CFBB - Orchy 61-101

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-21) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 21th consecutive match to second ranked Orchesien BC (15-4) 101-61 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Orchesien BC. CFBB managed to win third quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Orchesien BC forced 20 CFBB turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Orchesien BC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Renaud Brocheray (202-80) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). point guard Emilien Barbry (188-83) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Very expected game when 13th ranked Saint Chamond (7-13) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Rueil (11-10) 90-79. Saint Chamond was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 50-38 second half run of Rueil. They made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Rueil outrebounded Saint Chamond 49-30 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Saint Chamond helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Sorgues' 24. Monaco players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Naturalized Tunisian power forward Mehdi Labeyrie-Hafsi (203-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian-Bosnian center Nemanja Calasan (205-85, college: Purdue) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Cedric Mansare (195-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Arnaud Thinon (178-87) added 14 points in the effort for Sorgues. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Monaco maintains seventh place with 11-8 record.
