Eighth-ranked Roche (8-9) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Angers (13-5) on Saturday. Angers managed to secure only three-point victory 62-59. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 34-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for power forward Johanna Cortinovis (190-86) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Camille Aubert (171-89) helped adding 11 points and 5 assists. At the losing side guard Linda Bousbaa (165-91) responded with 11 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Angers maintains fourth place with 13-5 record. Roche at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with SIG. Angers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Roche will play at home against CFBB (#12) in Paris and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.

Latvian power forward Dace Brumermane (187-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds for Dunkerque in the defeat. Nice have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-1 record. Dunkerque at the other side keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Nice will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dunkerque will play at home against the league's second-placed COB Calais (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Lucie Martine Barba fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Margot Joret produced 14 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Limoges maintains eleventh place with 4-13 record. Laveyron lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Limoges will meet higher ranked Reims (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Laveyron will play against SIG in llkirch-Graff. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 19 Pau Orthez destroyed CFBB on the opponent's court 75-53. COB Calais managed to outperform Reims in a home game 83-67.


Limoges - Laveyron 82-57

An interesting game took place in Limoges where higher ranked Laveyron (9-9) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Limoges (4-13) 82-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Limoges led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Laveyron to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Limoges dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Laveyron's 36. Limoges forced 23 Laveyron turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Lucie Martine Barba (185-92) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Thazina Cook (175-88, college: Iona) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Margot Joret (168-93) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Leslie Fournier (184-90) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Laveyron players scored in double figures. Limoges maintains eleventh place with 4-13 record. Laveyron lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Pau Lacq Orthez led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding CFBB to just 6 points in second quarter. Julia Borde (184-92) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Senegalese forward Mariame Dia (185-78) chipped in 14 points. Center Aby Gaye (193-95) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and guard Fleur Devillers (181-95) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Pau Lacq Orthez. Newly promoted Pau Lacq Orthez maintains fifth place with 13-6 record. CFBB lost their sixteenth game in a row. Rather predictable result when third ranked COB Calais (14-3) defeated at home 6th ranked Reims (10-8) 83-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 56-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. COB Calais dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Reims' 28. COB Calais forced 24 Reims turnovers. American power forward Kierra Mallard (190-90, college: Texas Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Aurelie Cibert (168-85, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds.
