The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of JA Vichy (17-6) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Orchesien BC (17-4) 75-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of JA Vichy. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 38-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded JA Vichy 44-33 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Russell Carter (196-85, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Center Olivier Gouez (217-84) contributed with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. point guard Benjamin Thomas (181-82) answered with 16 points and 4 assists for JA Vichy. JA Vichy's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Orchesien BC have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. JA Vichy at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. Orchesien BC are looking forward to face Rueil (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. JA Vichy will play against Monaco (#6) and is hoping to win this game.

In the last two games of round 25 Souffel was beaten by Cognac on the road 65-61. St Chamond won against Challans on its own court 85-72. Quimper unfortunately lost to Rueil in a road game 61-67. Chartres recorded a loss to Sorgues at home 68-81. Blois crushed CFBB on the opponent's court 99-73.
The most impressive performance of 25th round was 36 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds by Jarryd Cole of La Rochelle.

La Rochelle - Monaco 96-97 OT

Monaco escaped with a narrow overtime win over La Rochelle away from home. M.Laberiye-Hafsi delivered 19 points to pace the visitors. J.Jones accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds as Monaco jumped at 13-8 record. J.Cole led all scorers with 36 points and 12 rebounds for La Rochelle.

Cognac - Souffel 65-61

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourth ranked Cognac (15-7) beat at home 3rd placed Souffelweyersheim (15-7) 65-61 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Souffelweyersheim won fourth quarter 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for Serbian forward Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds. Sadio Doucoure (195-92) contributed with 6 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Chadian forward Jacques Alingue (201-88) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jeremy Tschamber (192-84) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Souffelweyersheim. Cognac moved-up to third place, which they share with Souffel. Cognac will face Quimper UJAP (#5) on the road in the next round. Souffelweyersheim will play against Saint Chamond.

St Chamond - Challans 85-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked Vendee Challans' (7-15) road loss to thirteenth ranked Saint Chamond (9-13) 72-85 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Saint Chamond. Vendee Challans was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saint Chamond made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Vendee Challans turnovers. It was a very good performance for Latvian swingman Ingus Bankevics (195-85, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. American forward Tyray Pearson (201-80, college: Iowa St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Fabien Herard (198-79) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Lithuanian power forward Petras Balocka (205-86, college: Hawaii) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Vendee Challans. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Saint Chamond moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Chartres. Loser Vendee Challans keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Saint Chamond will face higher ranked Souffelweyersheim (#3) in Souffel. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vendee Challans will play at home against Chartres (#11).

It was a very good performance for Alexis Desespringalle (192-91) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Karim Gourari (201-89) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Spanish point guard Carlos Cherry (184-79, agency: Global Sports Plaza) answered with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and swingman Florian Thibedore (193-90) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Quimper UJAP. Chartres was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Cedric Mansare (195-85) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Naturalized Cameroonian forward Michel Ipouck (199-86) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian forward Zeljko Bojovic (200-81) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chartres. Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Blois (12-9) outplayed bottom-ranked CFBB (0-23) in Paris 99-73 on Saturday. The game without a history. Blois led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 46. Blois forced 20 CFBB turnovers and outrebounded them 41-17 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for center Jonathan Tornato (210-89) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Finnish forward Ville Kaunisto (205-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Blois' coach Hugues Occansey felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Paul Rigot (201-95) answered with 14 points and 5 assists and point guard Etienne Ory (175-96) added 7 points and 5 assists in the effort for CFBB. The victory was the third consecutive win for Blois. They maintain eighth place with 12-9 record. CFBB lost their twentieth third game in a row. They still closes the standings. Blois will face higher ranked La Rochelle (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CFBB will play against Angers BC 49 (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
