French ProB round 21 best performance: Corin Henry - Mar 9, 2017

Corin Henry
American Point guard Corin Henry (178-PG-88, agency: Octagon Europe) had an amazing evening in the last round for Evreux, receiving a Eurobasket.com ProB Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (35 points, four rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Le Havre (11-10) 83-78. Evreux is placed at 7th position in French ProB. Evreux is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-10 record. In the team's last game Henry had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Evreux's top player in his first season with the team. Former Tarleton State University star has very solid stats this year. Henry is in league's top in points (6th best: 16.4ppg) and averages impressive 2.5spg and 51.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old Yannis Morin (208-C/F-93) of Le Havre. Morin had a very good evening with a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Le Havre lost that game 78-83 to Evreux (11-10). This loss caused Le Havre to drop to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 11-10 record is not bad and everything may still change. Morin is a newcomer at Le Havre and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Ryan Rhoomes (203-C-92) of St Quentin (#17). Rhoomes scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Rhoomes' great performance St Quentin lost 61-69 to slightly higher-ranked Maurienne (#15, 9-12). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of St Quentin not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 13 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Rhoomes could try to bring St Quentin's a little bit higher in the standings. Rhoomes has a very solid season. In 21 games in France he scored 11.2ppg. He also has 6.9rpg and FGP: 60.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kyle Spain (196-F-87) of Denain - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Jonathan Fairell (201-F-93) of Rouen - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Charles Abouo (196-G/F-89) of Denain - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Charles-Henri Bronchard (200-C/F-82) of Vichy Clermont - 17 points and 8 rebounds
8. Eigirdas Zukauskas (203-PG-92) of St Chamond - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Martin Hermannsson (190-G-94) of Charleville - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Deonte Burton (183-PG-91) of Lille - 23 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Vincent Fauche signs at La Charite - 2 hours ago
NM1 newcomer La Charite Basket 58 landed 21-year old point guard Vincent Fauche (191-96). He has played for the last five years at Limoges CSP Elite in the ProA. ProA was a little too high level for him, where in 5 games he did not score anything and 1 steal. NM1 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. Fauche's team made it to the U21 Championships (Trophee du Futur) Semifinals. He represented France at the European Championships U18 in Konya (Turkey) three yea...   [read more]
