Moustapha
Fall
Moustapha Fall (218-C-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Chalon and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 24-year old center had a double-double of 15 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat Le Portel (#8, 14-14) 83-76. Chalon maintains the 2nd position in French ProA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Chalon will need more victories to improve their 21-7 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Fall as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Fall has impressive league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 9.0rpg. Fall is in league's top in and averages solid 2.5bpg and 68.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American point guard D.J. Cooper (183-PG-90) of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Cooper impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 17 assists. Bad luck as Pau-Lacq-Orthez lost that game 73-85 to the higher-ranked Monaco (#1, 25-3). This loss caused Pau-Lacq-Orthez to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 19-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Cooper is a newcomer at Pau-Lacq-Orthez and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Mathias Lessort (205-PF-95) of Nanterre (#3). Lessort scored 21 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Nanterre, leading his team to a 92-86 win against the lower-ranked Orleans (#17, 8-20). Nanterre needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 19 victories and 9 lost games. Lessort has a great season in France. After 28 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.4rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Elton Brown (206-C-83) of Nancy - 12 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Ousmane Camara (202-C-89) of Limoges - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Chris Warren (178-PG-88) of Nanterre - 26 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Chris Otule (211-C-90) of Antibes - 20 points and 10 rebounds
8. Jason Rich (191-G-86) of Paris-Levallois - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Jerel Blassingame (175-PG-81) of Antibes - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Brandon Peterson (204-C/F-90) of Dijon - 17 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

ProA Round 5: JL Bourg lose to Le Mans in the game between Top 4 teams - 3 hours ago
After 5 rounds played we can already see who rules in the ProA and who belongs to weaker ones. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with favorites losing the games, games ending by tiny margin and even winless team recording their first victory. The game between Top Four teams took place in Le Mans. Leader host Le Mans (5-0) smashed 4th placed JL Bourg (3-2) 91-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of JL Bourg. The game without a hist...   [read more]

Watt's double-double lands him NM1 Player of the Week award - 7 minutes ago
28-year old forward Demond Watt (200-F-89) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Gries/Oberhoffen and receives a Eurobasket.com NM1 Player of the Week award for round 4. He had a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Boulogne (#13, 1-3) 86-80. It allowed Gries/Oberhoffen to consolidate first place in the French NM1. Reynolds to join Gravelines, ex Buducnost - 1 hour ago
BCM Gravelines Dunkerque Grand Littoral (ProA) inked 33-year old American guard J.R. Reynolds (188-90kg-84, college: Virginia, agency: Inception Sports). It is actually his comeback to Gravelines Dunkerque as he has played here before. Reynolds played most recently at Buducnost in Montenegrin Erste Liga.
