Dinamo Wins the Cup of Georgia - Apr 24, 2016

The Georgian Cup winner is Dinamo. Irakli Khoshtaria's boys have defeated Sokhumi easily - 85:59. In spite of that it was Final game of the tournament and chances were expected to be equal, Dinamo was way ahead of the opponent in every component of the game. The game was finished as it started: Dinamo dominated from the very beginning of the game and it lasted till the end. The defensive play style was Dinamo's key to the success and victory. The tactical play kept them dry almost for the whole 1st period. Sokhumi only scored 6 points and on the other hand Dinamo scored 23 points. The game almost remained the same, Dinamo was 24 points (!) ahead and every player was trying hard to perform at their best. This left no chance for Sokhumi and they even could not catch up with Dinamo. The best player from dynamo was Maksim Kovacevic (196-G/F-87, agency: SPORTlab Agency) with 17 points. Giorgi Sharabidze (210-C-90, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored the only Double double of the game 12 points and 10 rebounds. Juevol Myles (185-G-89, college: S.Dakota) and Nodar Gogodze (191-PG-94) scored 10 points each. The best player from Sokhumi's side was Miller with 22 points. Along with the Trophy Dinamo got 50 000 Laris on their account as a prize, which was funded by first time in the tournament's history by the Georgian Basketball Federation. The Trophy cup was given out by Georgian Veteran player Nodar Korkia. Radio 'Jako' had the special prize for the bombardier of the game Kote Makharadze Cup (who was well known Georgian event host and TV star. The Prize was given to Maxim Maksim Kovacevic by Jamlet Khukhashvili, famous TV and Radio announcer and host. The MVP title was given out to Giorgi Giorgi Sharabidze who got his prize from veteran player and the former Dinamko player and Coach Levan Moseshvili .
