Zurab Sakandelidze and Mikheil Korkiya are the most titled Georgian basketball players. Sakandelidze as the member of Soviet Union's National Basketball team won four European Championships (1965, 1967, 1969, 1971). In 1967 became the Champion of the World and in 1968 Mexico Olympic Games got a bronze medal. Korkiya became the Champion of Europe (1971). Got a bronze medal on the Montreal Olympic Games 1976 .
