In the last one they struggled a lot to secure the survival in ACB. At the middle of the season it seemed to be 'mission impossible', but later they improved significaly managing the reach their target. The second part of the season was amazing for Cajasol, who seemed unbeatable at the one moment. Tyrone Ellis played 32 games in ACB averaging 11.3 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.7 apg. In EuroChallenge he had 8.8 ppg, 2.2 apg and 1.8 rpg for 12 games. Before that, Cajasol played in EuroCup Qualification, but did not make it. Ellis arrived to Cajasol from Eldo Basket Napoli in 2007. In the past he also was a member of Besiktas and Frankfurt Opel Skyliners. Interesting is that in 2006 he received Georgian citizenship. Since than he is a member of Georgian National Team. In 2004 Tyrone Ellis won the title in German championship with Frankfurt. Later he reached TBL Semifinals with Besiktas.

The reigning European champion announced it will terminate the contract with Georgian star Giorgi Shermadini (216-C-89) in order to sign a new one. The new deal expected to be with more money included and for longer period. According to sportdog.gr head coach Zeljko Obradovic was quite pleased with the progress of Shermadini and asked from the administration of the team to keep him.

Giorgi Shermadini arrived to PAO in November this year. He got a chance just in 1 Euroleague and 4 Greek league games. Last summer he played for Georgia on U20 European Championship in Riga ending it as the second best scorer and the leading rebounder of the contest. In 4 games he netted 23 ppg and also grabbed 16.3 rpg. Before PAO, Giorgi Shermadini spent few years with Maccabi Tbilisi. After that he was NBA Draft candidate. Last year he got almost all Eurobasket awards in Georgia. He was Player of the Year, Center of the Year, All Defensive Team. In 2007 he participated at the Nike World Summit Hoop in USA. Since 2006 he also a member of Georgian senior NT. Shermadini appeared few times of Adidas Camp in Berlin and Reebok camp in Treviso.

Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-G-86) finished the 2008-2009 season in Estonia and ended up second in the Play-offs of EMKL. Kalev/Cramo retained the KML title after two-year pause. They defeated their archrivals TU/Rock in the sixth game to win the finals 4-2.

Keerles and Kristjan Kangur narrowed the margin to two points midway through the opening frame but TU/Rock rebuilt a 6-point cushion. The Tartu team secured a 6-point advantage at the first intermission. Kristjan Kangur and Gregor Arbet came up with back-to-back trebles for Kalev/Cramo midway through the second term to give the hosts their first lead of the game. Gregor Arbet and Linenah completed a 12:0 run from the home team as they gained a 37:32 lead. Kevin Lyde capped the first half with a bucket as Kalev/Cramo sealed the outcome at 39:34. Janar Talts opened the second half with 5 points in a row to level things up. Kristjan Kangur and Nate Fox retained the lead for the hosts. Tein, Janar Talts and Giorgi Tsintsadze fired right back keeping the teams balanced. The teams traded baskets to enter the final term all level at 52. Kevin Lyde scored 5 points to ignite a 10:0 run from the hosts early at the start of the fourth quarter. TU/Rock reacted with 6 points in a row to stay within striking distance. Giorgi Tsintsadze accounted for four points as TU/Rock jumped ahead 65:64 with under two minutes to go. Gregor Arbet stepped up for Kalev/Cramo hitting a jumper and putting the home side back into the drivers seat. Giorgi Tsintsadze and Doronin had the chance to save the game for the visitors but missed their attempts, while Nate Fox sealed the triumphant outcome for Kalev/Cramo. Kristjan Kangur nailed 12 points to lead balanced effort from the Tallinn team. Nate Fox added 11 points and 8 rebounds, while Kevin Lyde provided 10 points and 6 boards for the new champions. Giorgi Tsintsadze replied with game-high 26 points for TU/Rock. Janar Talts finished with 18 points in the loss.
Before that John Linehan made his best performance of the final series, scoring 24 points and making incredible 7 steals and BC Kalev/Cramo downed TU/Rock 69:60 in front of opponents home crowd. Giorgi Tsintsadze scored 13 for TU/Rock.
