Romania U16-Georgia U16 51:55

Georgia upset the hosts in Group C opener of the U16 European Championship in Division B. The team grabbed 55:51 in front of 450 fans in Bucharest.
Although Romania scored the first 4 points in the game, they could not win the encounter. Georgia managed to post only 2 points after the first 5 minutes, but had 15:10 at the end of it. Lomidze nailed three in the start of the second frame, while Romanian team tied the game at 18:18 after an 8-0 run. Moreover Nandor Kuti (194-SG-97) closed the half at 24:22. The third quarter became decisive in the game and brought 20-13 for the Georgia that had 42:37 at the end of it. The guests kept Romanian scoreless for the first 6 minutes of the last period and took 48:37 lead. They added some free throws at the very end to seal the victory.
Luka Zakradze (187-PG-96) led the way with 11 points and Levan Gogaladze (191-PG-97) notched 9. Soso Matchavariani (196-SF-96) delivered 8, whist Giorgi Gugeshashvili (197-F-96) had 7. Marius Ciotlaus (194-SF-96) ended up with 16 points in the losing effort and Nandor Kuti added 13.

American Guard Caleb Crayton (190-G-94) had an amazing evening in the last round for Mgzavrebi, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 1. The 22-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds for Mgzavrebi. In the team's last game Crayton had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. A League newcomer BC Titebi added to their roster American forward Armani Flannigan (203-93kg, college: N.Texas). He spent last season at MCO Mouloudia Oujda in Moroccan D1 league. Shahrdary Arak (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old American guard Daniel Williams (195-94kg-87, college: Lewis-Clark State). He played most recently at Cactus Tbilisi in Georgia Superleague. In 12 games he was third best scorer with 9.3ppg and had 3.2rpg and 3.1apg last season. Williams helped them to win the cup.
