VTB League is an international professional basketball league that was founded in 2008. Its goal is to unite the leading basketball clubs of Eastern Europe and Northern Europe together into one league. The league is sponsored by VTB Bank. In its inaugural 2009-10 season, it featured clubs from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine. For the 201011 season teams from Finland, Poland and Belarus were added to the league. The 201112 season featured a total of 18 teams, with new teams being added from Czech Republic and Kazakhstan.

JSC "VTB Bank (Georgia)" (www.vtb.ge) is a member of the VTB Group which is a title sponsor of the league, nevertheless, geographically Georgia and it's capital Tbilisi fits the Eastern European League very well.

BC Armia started last season on the EuroChallange with high ambitious and signed famous players like Sundiata Gaines (185-PG-86, agency: Strategic Sports, college: Georgia) , Jeremy Richardson (200-G/F-84, college: Delta St.) , Guillermo Diaz (188-SG-85, college: Miami, FL), Will Thomas (203-PF-86, agency: Two Points) and etc. Georgian Champion is automatically qualified on EuroChallange in the Group H after clinching 3rd consecutive national title.

Sources state that there is a strong chance that BC Armia will also play on VTB League in Group A but VTB League CEO Mr. Andrey Shirokov stated in the interview with planet-basket.com yesterday that Georgian Champion didn't apply for participation yet but if they will in the near future, the co-operation could be further discussed.
