23-year old center Richard Matiashvili (207-C-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for Kutaisi and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Batumi (#7, 1-4) 75-70. Kutaisi maintains the 4th position in Georgian league. They are still close to the very top. Kutaisi would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. It's Matiashvili's second year at Kutaisi and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Matiashvili has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 17.4ppg), rebounds (4th best: 10.6rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg and 51.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kyle Nelson (203-F-89, agency: N.E.T.) of Rustavi. He is American forward in his first season at Rustavi. In the last game Nelson recorded impressive 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course he lead Rustavi to another comfortable win 90-72 over the lower-ranked TSU Tbilisi (#8, 1-4) being unquestionably team leader. Rustavi's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Nelson is a newcomer at Rustavi and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.6ppg (#9). He also registered 8.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Stevan Milosevic (211-C-85, agency: Interperformances) of Olimpi (#3). Milosevic scored 16 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Olimpi, leading his team to a 106-63 easy win against Samedicino (#9, 0-4). Olimpi started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Milosevic turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Milosevic has a great season in Georgia. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.8rpg (#1 in league).

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Mgzavrebi-Armia Tbilisi (Superleague) confirmed in their roster American point guard Kaheem Ransom (185-82kg, college: Sam Houston State). He played there last season. In 23 Superleague games he had 14.5ppg, 6.8rpg, 5.4apg (top 4) and 2.3spg (in top 3). Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com Georgian League All-Imports Team and 2nd Team. 26-year old Georgian international power forward Nika Metreveli (211-105kg-91) left Pasta Reggia JuveCaserta (Serie A). But in 10 games he recorded just 0.6ppg and 1.0rpg this season.
