Zviad
Babiashvili
Experienced former international power forward Zviad Babiashvili (200-PF-78) put on an amazing game in the last round for Armia and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 34-year old power forward had a double-double of 14 points and eleven rebounds, while his team outclassed TSU Tbilisi (#7, 2-5) with 29-point margin 94-65. Armia is placed at 3rd position in Georgian Superleague. They are still close to the very top. Armia would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. Babiashvili has many years of experience at Armia, through which he has constantly improved. Zviad Babiashvili averages this season 7.6ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old center Vakhtang Kadaria (205-C-89) of Sokhumi. Kadaria impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Sokhumi cruised to a 86-75 relatively comfortable win over STU Tbilisi (#11, 0-6). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Sokhumi keeps 9th position. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Sokhumi managed to get this year. Kadaria is well-known by Sokhumi fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.0ppg (#8). He also registered 11.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Ioseb Lezhava (185-PG-91) of Dinamo Tbilisi (#6). Lezhava showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, seven rebounds and ten assists (!!!) in the last round. Despite Lezhava's great performance Dinamo Tbilisi lost 79-84 to slightly higher-ranked Olimpi (#4, 5-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Dinamo Tbilisi needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Lezhava has a great season in Georgia. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.7apg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Lasha Keshelava (200-F-81) of Batumi - 21 points and 13 rebounds
5. Ivane Maisuradze (194-G-85) of Batumi - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Flynn Clayman (206-F-88) of Dinamo Tbilisi - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Kyle Nelson (203-F-89) of Rustavi - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Nate Bowie (183-G-86) of Rustavi - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Zaur Pashayev (188-G-83) of Kutaisi - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Sten-Timmu Sokk (181-PG-89) of Olimpi - 8 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The second game of the Final Series was played today between Dinamo and Kutaisi. This time Dinamo defeated Kurtaisi without any difficulties and leads the series 2:0.
