26-year old guard Nate Bowie (183-G-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Rustavi and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 31 points adding six rebounds and five assists for Rustavi in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Armia (#4, 5-2) 79-77. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Rustavi to take over top position in the Georgian league. Rustavi have a solid 7-1 record. In the team's last game Bowie had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Rustavi's top player in his first season with the team. Central Arkansas graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bowie is in league's top in points (3rd best: 19.5ppg), assists (9th best: 3.9apg) and averages solid 2.9spg and 55.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Keyon Carter (203-F-88, agency: Two Points) of Dinamo Tbilisi. He is American forward in his first season at Dinamo Tbilisi. In the last game Carter recorded impressive double-double of 31 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Dinamo Tbilisi to edge the lower-ranked Sokhumi (#9, 1-6) by 4 points 81-77. Dinamo Tbilisi's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Carter is a newcomer at Dinamo Tbilisi and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Stevan Milosevic (211-C-85, agency: Interperformances) of league's second-best Olimpi. Milosevic scored 18 points and grabbed eighteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Olimpi, leading his team to a 71-62 win against #3 ranked MIA Academy in a game of the week. Olimpi is closer and closer to the top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 6-1 record is not that bad... Milosevic has a great season in Georgia. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.9ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 13.0rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.3bpg and FGP: 62.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ruslan Nazmiev (200-G-87) of Sokhumi - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Lasha Keshelava (200-F-81) of Batumi - 23 points and 16 rebounds
6. Lamar Karim (178-PG-83) of Dinamo Tbilisi - 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Avtandil Eliashvili (200-F-89) of Batumi - 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Lamayn Wilson (204-F-80) of Armia - 12 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Vakhtang Kadaria (205-C-89) of Sokhumi - 12 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Irakli Dzidziguri (202-F-82) of STU Tbilisi - 21 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Dinamo Leads the Final Series 2:0 - 1 hour ago
The second game of the Final Series was played today between Dinamo and Kutaisi. This time Dinamo defeated Kurtaisi without any difficulties and leads the series 2:0. Yesterday was a bad day for Dinamo on the court, as they had the hardest time shooting from the distance, but today it was all vice-versa: they were more solid in every aspect of the game   [read more]
Rustavi Is the 3rd Place Holder - 1 hour ago
The 3rd place holder of the Superleague 2017 is Rustavi. They defeated Cactus 93:85 and got the hit. The fate of the game was decided in the last period, but until then it was an equal game, changing the lead back and forth. In the 3rd period Rustavi managed to skip the difference in the score, as Cactus dominated before. They wasted the advantage and Rustavi played a more solid defensive style. Briggs, Atuashvili, Chachanidze and Lee were constructive on the court and did a 13:0 runaway...   [read more]
