We bring you last week's top performances from Georgians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-86, currently plays in Euroleague). He led his Italian team Montepaschi Siena to a victory against the closely-ranked Khimky (2-1) 82-76 in the Euroleague last Friday. Sanikidze scored 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Montepaschi Siena (3-0) is placed second in group F. So far his team won all three games in the Top 16. This season Sanikidze averages: 5.8ppg, 6.0rpg, 2FGP: 47.8%, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 76.0%. He is currently a member of the Georgian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Zaza Pachulia (210-84, currently plays in NBA). He contributed to an Atlanta Hawks' victory against the Utah Jazz (21-19) 103-95 in the NBA in Friday night's game. Pachulia scored 12 points. The Atlanta Hawks have 21-16 record this season. Pachulia's overall stats this year are: 6.3ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 49.4% and FT: 75.9%. He is in the roster of the Georgian senior national team.

   #3. The Georgian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international small forward Manuchar Markoishvili (196-86, currently plays in Italy). Markoishvili contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked SAIE3 BO (6-9) 79-64 in the Italian SerieA last Sunday. He scored 11 points and added 3 assists in 24 minutes. Mapooro Cantu (11-4) is placed fourth in the SerieA. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Markoishvili's fourth season with the team. Markoishvili has relatively good stats this year: 13.3ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 46.9%, 3FGP: 43.1% and FT: 92.6%(25-27) in the 15 games he played so far. He is also a member of the Georgian senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in a 2-point FIATC Joventut's victory against the closely-ranked Blusens Monbus (9-8) 89-87 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. Fisher scored 16 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 9 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. FIATC Joventut Badalona (8-9) is placed 11th in the ACB. Fisher belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #9. He has very reliable stats this season: 14.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.9apg. Fisher is a naturalized American. Despite he played previously for the USA university national team, Fisher is currently in the Georgian national team roster. Strangely he has never played in Georgia.

   #5. International point guard Georgi Tsintsadze (192-86, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to Budivelnyk's victory against the closely-ranked Banvit BK (1-1) 76-69 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. Tsintsadze recorded 12 points and added 4 assists in 25 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group I. Budivelnyk Kyiv (2-0) is placed first. There are only four games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game will be critical. This year Tsintsadze has relatively solid stats: 10.4ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.4apg and 1.4spg in the eight games. He plays currently for the Georgian national team.

   #6. Center Giorgi Shermadini (216-89, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Greece could not help Olympiacos (1-2) to beat Regal FC Barcelona (2-1). Shermadini scored 6 points. It was his first game for Olympiacos this season. The fifth-placed Olympiacos was defeated 76-68 on the road by the higher-ranked Regal FC Barcelona (#4) in the group F of Euroleague. Shermadini is an international player who is currently on the senior Georgian National Team roster.

   #7. International point guard Jacob Pullen (185-89, college: Kansas St., currently plays in Israel) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (5-8) 98-83 in the Israeli Winner League on Sunday night. He recorded 15 points and added 3 assists in 25 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Pullen's second season in pro basketball. Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem (7-6) is placed fifth in the Winner League. Pullen is currently fourth on the league's list of best passers with 4.7apg. This year his other stats are: 13.3ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.1spg in the 13 games. Pullen is a naturalized American. He is also Georgian national team player. Apparently Pullen has never played in Georgia.

   #8. Power forward Tornike Shengelia (203-91, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Brooklyn Nets to win against the Phoenix Suns (13-27) crushing them 99-79 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He scored only 4 points. The Brooklyn Nets have a solid 23-15 record this season. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. It's Shengelia's first year with the team. This season Shengelia averages just 1.4ppg. He plays currently for the Georgian national team.

   #9. International power forward Nika Metreveli (211-91, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 2-point Omegna's victory against the closely-ranked Chieti (4-7) 92-90 in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) last Sunday. Metreveli had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 16 rebounds in 34 minutes. Paffoni Omegna (9-8) is placed eighth in the Nazionale A. Metreveli has reliable stats this year: 14.0ppg and 12.0rpg in the two games. He is also in the roster of the Georgian national team.

   #10. Power forward Beka Burjanadze (203-94, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Cajasol's victory against the tenth-ranked Unicaja Malaga (8-9) 81-70 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. Burjanadze scored only 3 points. Cajasol Banca Civica Sevilla (6-11) is placed 15th in the ACB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Burjanadze averages just 1.8ppg. He is U20 international player who is currently on the Georgian National Team roster.

   #11. Former international center Georges Mdivani (204-85, agency: Promotex, currently plays in France) contributed to Rueil's victory against the 14th-ranked Union Rennes 82-69 in the French NM1 (third division) in Saturday night's game. Mdivani recorded 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 15 minutes. This year Mdivani's overall stats are: 7.8ppg and 5.0rpg in the five games. He used to play for the Georgian national team eight years ago.

Will Thomas (203-PF-86, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Turkey) led Karsiyaka to a victory over the closely-ranked TED Kolejliler (8-7) crushing them 87-66 in the Turkish TBL in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Thomas had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds in 25 minutes. Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir (12-3) is placed fourth in the TBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Thomas averages: 9.6ppg and 5.0rpg in the 15 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Thomas used to play for Army Sport Klub Tbilisi in Georgian league.

   #2. Quinton Hosley (201-F/G-84, college: Fresno St., currently plays in Eurocup), who plays in Poland could not help Stelmet ZG (1-1) in their last game. Despite Hosley's very good performance the third-placed Stelmet ZG lost 87-96 on the road to the leading Lokomotiv in the group K of Eurocup. He was the top scorer with 22 points in 25 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game will be critical. It's Hosley's first season with the team. Hosley has relatively good stats this year: 14.1ppg, 4.9rpg, 3.4apg and 1.8spg in the eight games. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Hosley has never played in Georgia.

Poland - Georgia 80:71 Poland earned the third position at the Anwil Basketball Challenge tournament. They beat Georgia in the consolation final. Mateusz Ponitka (196-G/F-93) came up with 17 points to lead the winners. Poland sank 26 points in the opening frame to gain an 8-point lead. They stayed in front throughout the second quarter. Aris Thessaloniki (A1) agreed terms with 30-year old Georgian international forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-88kg-86). He played last season at TED Kolejliler in Turkish BSL league. In 28 games he had 12.3ppg, 7.9rpg (#4 in the league) and 2.8apg. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Honorable Mention. Sweden - Georgia 73:60 Sweden advanced into the Final of the Anwil Basketball Challenge basketball tournament. They overcame Georgia in the first game at the tourney. Tobias Borg (184-PG-93) stepped up with 18 points to lead the Scandinavian team. Sweden grabbed a 22:18 lead after the first period. They maintained the advantage throughout the second quarter.
