In the fourth round of 16 Top of Euroleague Viktor Sanikidzes Montepaschi beat Giorgi Shermadinis Olimpicos 74:72, as for Georgian basketball players they did quite well.
According to the coefficient, Shermadini was the best among the hosts, as for Sanikidze he had the second result in his team.
It is pleasant that Shermadini appeared in the start five first time after going through the current champion of Euro League and he satisfied expectations of the head coach. Georgian
centre played for 14:06 minutes and gained 9 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block shot and 3 turnovers.
Shermadini scored all the three two-point kicks and 3 penalty kicks form 4, he did not make any mistake. His coefficient was 21 and was the first in the club.
As for Sanikidze, this time he was not in the start five, he was very close to double double. Viktor played for 20:51 minutes and scored 2 two-point kicks from 5, 1 three point kick
from 2 and 2 penalty kicks from 5, he had 9 points, 8 rebounds and 1 turnover. Georgian forward gained two personal fouls, opponents gained 5 fouls against him. Sanikidzes
coefficient was 14.
It is remarkable that Montepaschi won the fourth match in a row in top 16 and with unbeatable Caja Laboral it is also leader. Olimpiacos which as only one victory and three
failures it in the fifth position. The next round is held on Janaury 24-25. Olimpiacos will host Maccabi Tel Aviv and as for Montepaschi, it is host Beshiktash on Janaury 25. Viktor Sanikidze (203-SF-86)

American John Florveus (211-C-90) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Cactus Tbilisi and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 23. The 26-year old center had a double-double of 31 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat Mgzavrebi (#8, 6-17) 82-69. Cactus Tbilisi is placed at 4th position in Georgian Superleague.
