We bring you last week's top performances from Georgians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Giorgi Shermadini (216-89, currently plays in Greece). He was the major contributor in Olympiacos' victory against one of league's weakest teams KAOD (5-12) 91-81 in the Greek A1 last Monday. Shermadini scored 11 points (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus (16-1) is placed first in the A1. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Shermadini averages: 5.0ppg, 2.7rpg, 2FGP: 56.3%(9-16) and FT: 92.3%. He is currently a member of the Georgian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international power forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili (212-83, currently plays in Lebanon). Tskitishvili led Champville to a victory over the closely-ranked Byblos (8-6) 93-86 in the Lebanese Division A on Wednesday night. He was MVP of the game. Tskitishvili had a double-double by scoring 31 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks in 36 minutes. Champville (11-4) is placed third in the Division A. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Tskitishvili is currently fourth on the league's list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (second place). He has individually a very good year with high stats. Tskitishvili averages: 19.4ppg, 11.2rpg, 1.9apg, 2.8bpg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 61.5%(56-91), 3FGP: 41.9% and FT: 75.7% in the 10 games he played so far. He played for the Georgian national team in 2011.

   #3. The Georgian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international small forward Manuchar Markoishvili (196-86, currently plays in Eurocup). Markoishvili was the main contributor in Galatasaray's victory against the closely-ranked Zvezda (2-4) 85-84 in the Eurocup in Tuesday night's game. He was the best player in that game. Markoishvili scored 17 points. Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul (3-3) is placed third in group L. The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup. Markoishvili has relatively good stats this season: 12.0ppg, 1.3rpg, 2FGP: 29.4%, 3FGP: 53.8%(7-13). He is also a member of the Georgian senior national team.

   #4. Small forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-86, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA could not help Montepaschi Siena (13-6) to beat VL Pesaro (5-14). Sanikidze recorded 7 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in 25 minutes. Montepaschi Siena lost 73-78 on the road to the much lower-ranked (#14) VL_Pesaro. This year Sanikidze's overall stats are: 7.1ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.2apg in the 19 games. He is also Georgian national team player.

International point guard Georgi Tsintsadze (192-86, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to Budivelnyk's victory against the fourth-ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (2-4) 88-77 in the Eurocup on Wednesday night. Tsintsadze scored 14 points and added 6 passes. Budivelnyk Kyiv (4-2) is placed first in group I. The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup. It's Tsintsadze's first season with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 2.7rpg, 4.0apg and 1.2spg. Tsintsadze plays currently for the Georgian national team.

   #6. Center Zaza Pachulia (210-84, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Orlando Magic (15-38) crushing them 108-76 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. He scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 17 minutes. The Atlanta Hawks have 29-22 record this season. This year Pachulia's total stats are: 6.2ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.5apg in the 46 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Georgian National Team roster.

International point guard Jacob Pullen (185-89, college: Kansas St., currently plays in Israel) contributed to a 1-point Hapoel Jerusalem's victory against the tenth-ranked Hapoel Holon (6-11) 83-82 in the Israeli Winner League last Sunday. Pullen scored 13 points and added 3 assists. Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem (10-7) is placed second in the Winner League. Pullen has reliable stats this season: 13.4ppg, 1.5rpg, 4.2apg and 1.1spg. He is a naturalized American. Pullen is also Georgian national team player. Strangely he has never played in Georgia.

   #8. Point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB was not able to help FIATC Joventut (10-11) in their last game. Despite his good performance FIATC Joventut lost 70-81 at home to the higher-ranked (#4) Gescrap BB. Fisher was the second best scorer with 14 points in 25 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Fisher's stats this year are: 13.3ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.8apg in the 20 games. He is a naturalized American. Despite Fisher played previously for the USA university national team, he is currently in the Georgian national team roster. Apparently Fisher has never played in Georgia.

   #9. U20 international power forward Beka Burjanadze (203-94, currently plays in Eurocup) was not able to secure a victory for Cajasol (1-5) in their game against Stelmet ZG (3-3) in the Eurocup. Despite his good performance on Tuesday night He scored 11 points. The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup. Burjanadze has averaged so far 2.1ppg and 1.7rpg. He is also in the roster of the Georgian U20 national team.

   #10. Center Georges Mdivani (204-85, agency: Promotex, currently plays in France) couldn't help Rueil (10-10) in their game against Cognac (13-6) in the French NM1 (third division). Mdivani recorded 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 26 minutes. Rueil was badly defeated 79-60 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked (#5) Cognac. Mdivani has averaged so far 7.7ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.1apg in the 10 games. He is a former international player as eight years ago he still played for the Georgian senior national team.

   #1. Will Thomas (203-PF-86, currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Turkey could not help Karsiyaka (4-1) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the first-placed Karsiyaka lost 69-77 on the road to the lower-ranked (#4) Gaz Metan in the group I of EuroChallenge. Thomas had a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 14 rebounds in 38 minutes. His team will play only one more game in the EuroChallenge Top 16. And that game will be critical. It's Thomas' first season with the team. Thomas has relatively good stats this year: 12.7ppg, 7.2rpg and 2.0apg in the 11 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Thomas used to play for Army Sport Klub Tbilisi in Georgian league.

   #2. Melvin Sanders (196-F/G-81, college: Oklahoma St., currently plays in Italy) led Sigma Barcellona to a 1-point victory over the ninth-ranked Tezenis VE (8-10) 74-73 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) on Sunday night. Sanders was the top player that evening. He recorded 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 31 minutes. Sigma Barcellona (13-5) is placed first in the Lega2. Sanders has averaged so far 9.7ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.5apg in the 15 games. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Sanders has never played in Georgia.

   #3. Quinton Hosley (201-F/G-84, college: Fresno St., currently plays in Poland) was not able to help Stelmet ZG (14-6) in their game against Polpharma (9-11) in the Polish TBL. He scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Stelmet ZG was defeated 102-88 in Starogard by the lower-ranked Polpharma (#8). It was Stelmet ZG's first loss after five consecutive victories. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Hosley is currently fifth on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of most steals (second place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Hosley averages: 15.6ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.7apg and 2.1spg. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Hosley has never played in Georgia.   

Mgzavrebi lands Deron Powers - 5 hours ago
Mgzavrebi-Armia Tbilisi (Superleague) landed 25-year old American guard Deron Powers (183-77kg-92). He just graduated from Hofstra (NCAA). In 32 games he averaged 13.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 5.2apg last season. As mentioned above Powers is just out of the college and it will be his first season in pro basketball. Among other achievements his college team won MEAC Tournament in 2015. Powers received also All-MEAC 3rd Team award in 2015. Rustavi adds Cooper to their roster, ex KW Titans - 2 days ago
BC Rustavi 1991 (Superleague) added to their roster American forward Paul Cooper (203-119kg, college: Arkansas Tech). He played last season at KW Titans in Canadian NBL, but was released by the team in Mar.'17. In 24 NBL Canada games he recorded 8.3ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.1apg. Part of previous (2016) summer Cooper spent at Atletico Tabare in Uruguayan Ascenso where in 5 games he averaged 12.8ppg, 11.0rpg, 1.0spg and 1.0bpg in 2016 season. Rustavi inks Brian Bernardi, ex NH Ostrava - 3 days ago
BC Rustavi 1991 (Superleague) signed 23-year old American guard Brian Bernardi (188-88kg-94, college: Hofstra, agency: Mansfield and Associates). He already started the season at NH Ostrava in NBL league in Czech Republic. In three games he had 8.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.3apg this season. Bernardi just graduated from Hofstra University and it is his first season as a pro. He played in the final of CAA Tournament in 2016.
