   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Manuchar Markoishvili (196-86, currently plays in Turkey). He led Galatasaray to a victory over the league outsider Olin Edirne (4-15) 69-59 in the Turkish TBL last Saturday. Markoishvili was MVP of the game. He recorded 21 points. Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul (17-3) is placed second in the TBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Markoishvili averages: 8.3ppg. He is currently a member of the Georgian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international small forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-86, currently plays in Italy). Sanikidze was the major contributor in a Montepaschi Siena's victory against the league outsider Angelico Biella (4-16) crushing them 98-75 in the Italian SerieA on Sunday night. He scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 15 minutes. Montepaschi Siena (14-6) is placed third in the SerieA. It's Sanikidze's first season with the team. This year Sanikidze's overall stats are: 7.4ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 59.4%(41-69), 3FGP: 45.8%(11-24) and FT: 67.3% in the 20 games he played so far. He is in the roster of the Georgian senior national team.

   #3. The Georgian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Georgi Tsintsadze (192-86, currently plays in Eurocup). Tsintsadze contributed to Budivelnyk's victory against the fourth-ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (2-4) 88-77 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. He scored 14 points and added 6 passes. Budivelnyk Kyiv (4-2) is placed first in group I. There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game will be critical. Tsintsadze has relatively good stats this season: 10.3ppg, 2.7rpg, 4.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 54.9%, 3FGP: 27.8% and FT: 90.2%(37-41). He is also a member of the Georgian senior national team.

Despite his good performance Champville lost 69-75 at home to the leading Sagesse. Tskitishvili had a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting the same number of rebounds. He also added 5 assists and 2 blocks in 40 minutes. They ended the series of eight consecutive victories. Tskitishvili's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Tskitishvili is ranked sixth on the list of the best rebounders in the league and also on the list of best blockers (second place). He has individually a very good year with high stats. Tskitishvili averages: 18.6ppg, 11.2rpg, 2.2apg, 2.7bpg and 1.1spg in the 11 games. He used to play for the Georgian national team two years ago.

   #6. Center Giorgi Shermadini (216-89, currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to Olympiacos' victory against the fifth-ranked Caja Laboral (4-4) 82-74 in the Euroleague last Friday. He is a naturalized American. Fisher plays currently for the Georgian national team. Apparently he has never played in Georgia.

He recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 29 minutes. Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir (16-3) is placed third in the TBL. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Thomas has relatively good stats this year: 11.3ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.2apg in the 19 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Thomas used to play for Army Sport Klub Tbilisi in Georgian league.

   #2. Guillermo Diaz (188-G-85, college: Miami, FL, currently plays in Liga Americas), who plays in Puerto Rico could not help Capitanes (2-1) in their last game on Friday. Despite Diaz's very good performance the first-placed Capitanes was defeated 96-92 on the road by the second-ranked Pioneros in the group C of Liga Americas. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Diaz also added 3 assists. The Regular Season already ended in the Liga Americas. This season Diaz has relatively solid stats: 14.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 4.3apg and 1.3spg.

   #3. Quinton Hosley (201-F/G-84, college: Fresno St., currently plays in Eurocup) managed to help Stelmet Zielona Gora to win against the leader Lokomotiv (5-1) 94-88 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. Hosley scored only 4 points. Stelmet Zielona Gora (3-3) is placed third in group K. The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup. Hosley has reliable stats this season: 12.0ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.3apg and 1.5spg. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Hosley has never played in Georgia.

   #4. Melvin Sanders (196-F/G-81, college: Oklahoma St., currently plays in Italy) contributed to a Sigma Barcellona's victory against the 13th-ranked FCM Ferentino (7-12) 79-71 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) last Sunday. Poland - Georgia 80:71 Poland earned the third position at the Anwil Basketball Challenge tournament. They beat Georgia in the consolation final. Mateusz Ponitka (196-G/F-93) came up with 17 points to lead the winners. Poland sank 26 points in the opening frame to gain an 8-point lead. They stayed in front throughout the second quarter. Aris Thessaloniki (A1) agreed terms with 30-year old Georgian international forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-88kg-86). He played last season at TED Kolejliler in Turkish BSL league. In 28 games he had 12.3ppg, 7.9rpg (#4 in the league) and 2.8apg. Quite impressive season as he was named to All-Turkish League Honorable Mention. Sweden - Georgia 73:60 Sweden advanced into the Final of the Anwil Basketball Challenge basketball tournament. They overcame Georgia in the first game at the tourney. Tobias Borg (184-PG-93) stepped up with 18 points to lead the Scandinavian team. Sweden grabbed a 22:18 lead after the first period. They maintained the advantage throughout the second quarter.
