American Forward Maurice Lewis-Briggs (203-F-90, agency: Mansfield and Associates) had an amazing evening in the last round for Rustavi, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, seven rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Olimpi (#7, 4-11) with 16-point margin 88-72. Rustavi maintains the 3rd position in Georgian Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Rustavi will need more victories to improve their 9-7 record. In the team's last game Lewis-Briggs had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Rustavi and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Former Slippery Rock University star has very solid stats this year. Lewis-Briggs is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.5ppg) and averages impressive 62.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Rustavi's star - 31-year old Sergo Atuashvili (223-C-85). Atuashvili had a very good evening with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Of course together with Lewis-Briggs he helped Rustavi with another comfortable win 88-72 over the lower-ranked Olimpi (#7, 4-11) being unquestionably team leader. Rustavi's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 9-7 record is not bad at all. Atuashvili is a newcomer at Rustavi, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was former international forward Beka Bekauri (207-PF-91) of league's second-best Kutaisi. Bekauri scored 14 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Kutaisi, leading his team to a 75-60 easy win against #4 ranked Sokhumi in a game of the week. Kutaisi is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 12-3 record is not that bad... Bekauri has a great season in Georgia. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.4rpg (6th best). He also has 1.8bpg and FGP: 58.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Terik Bridgeman (198-G) of Cactus Tbilisi - 10 points, 19 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Kaheem Ransom (185-PG) of Mgzavrebi - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Chris Pelcher (208-C-91) of Batumi - 16 points and 12 rebounds
7. Dwayne Lathan (190-G-89) of Sokhumi - 18 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Mikheil Berishvili (204-SF-87) of Dinamo Tbilisi - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Giorgi Turdzeladze) of Mgzavrebi - 19 points and 3 rebounds
10. Corey Allen (185-PG-92) of Mgzavrebi - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
