Beqa
Chikviladze
25-year old swingman Beqa Chikviladze (196-F/G-91) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Cactus Tbilisi and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Sokhumi (#5, 7-11) 101-93. Cactus Tbilisi maintains the 4th position in Georgian league. Cactus Tbilisi is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-10 record. In the team's last game Chikviladze had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Cactus Tbilisi and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Beqa Chikviladze averages this season 14.6ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Kakhaber Jintcharadze (195-SG-93) of Batumi. He is international guard in his first season at Batumi. In the last game Jintcharadze recorded impressive 23 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Batumi cruised to a 96-89 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Rustavi (#3, 10-8). Batumi's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-11 record. Jintcharadze is a newcomer at Batumi and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.1ppg (#6). He also registered 5.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Otari Buliava (202-PF-94) of Sokhumi (#5). Buliava scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Buliava's great performance Sokhumi lost 93-101 to slightly higher-ranked Cactus Tbilisi (#4, 8-10). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Sokhumi not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Buliava could try to bring Sokhumi's a little bit higher in the standings. Buliava has a very solid season. In 18 games in Georgia he scored 14.1ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. John Florveus (211-C-90) of Cactus Tbilisi - 10 points and 19 rebounds
5. Besik Lezhava (192-SG-86) of Batumi - 29 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Revaz Rogava (191-G-93) of Olimpi - 25 points and 5 rebounds
7. Irakli Chlaidze (198-G/F-89) of Cactus Tbilisi - 29 points and 2 assists
8. Corey Allen (185-PG-92) of Mgzavrebi - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Tre Burnette (196-G) of Olimpi - 12 points and 7 rebounds
10. Oleksandr Tishchenko (205-F/C-89) of Sokhumi - 14 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
