Seventh-ranked Olimpi (7-14) gave a tough game to first ranked Dinamo Tbilisi (21-1) on Saturday. The visitors managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Olimpi. Dinamo Tbilisi made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Center Ilia Londaridze (205-89) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Levan Patsatsia (198-88, college: Troy) chipped in 9 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) responded with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Dinamo Tbilisi have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-1 record. Olimpi at the other side keeps the seventh place with 14 games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi are looking forward to face Batumi (#5) at home in the next round. Olimpi will play against Energy Invest and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Important game to mention about took place in Batumi. Seventh ranked Batumi (8-14) saved a 3-point derby victory at home edging 8th ranked Mgzavrebi (6-16) 81-78 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mgzavrebi. Ukrainian point guard Illya Shemosiuk (188-85) notched 26 points to lead the effort and Kakhaber Jintcharadze supported him with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Even 29 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) by American point guard Kaheem Ransom (185, college: Sam Houston St.) did not help to save the game for Mgzavrebi. Batumi moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cactus Tbilisi. Mgzavrebi at the other side stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Batumi will play against league's leader Dinamo Tbilisi on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mgzavrebi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Cactus Tbilisi.

In the last game of round 22 Cactus Tbilisi lost to Kutaisi on the opponent's court 78-82.

Rustavi - Sokhumi 88-69

The game between Top Four teams took place in Rustavi. Third ranked host Energy Invest (13-9) smashed one of their biggest challengers Sokhumi (9-13) 88-69. Sokhumi was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 34-14 charge of Energy Invest, which allowed them to win the game. Energy Invest outrebounded Sokhumi 42-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Sokhumi's players. Center Sergo Atuashvili (223-85) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Revaz Chachanidze (183-90) chipped in 23 points. Four Energy Invest players scored in double figures. Power forward Oleksandr Tishchenko (205-89) produced 17 points and American guard Dwayne Lathan (190-89, college: Indiana St.) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Sokhumi's coach Nugzar Cheishvili rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Energy Invest maintains third position with 13-9 record having eight points less than leader Dinamo Tbilisi. Rather expected game when 5th ranked Cactus Tbilisi (8-14) was defeated on the road by second ranked Kutaisi (15-6) 82-78 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 27-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. International point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-86) fired 17 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Guard Levan Tsekvava (190-89) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Kutaisi's coach Kote Tugushi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international swingman Beqa Chikviladze (196-91) produced 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Terik Bridgeman (198, college: William Pater.) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Kutaisi and four Cactus Tbilisi players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second position with 15-6 record having seven points less than leader Dinamo Tbilisi.
