Justin Gray
The amazing buzzer beater by Justin Gray (188-G-84, college: Wake Forest) agaisnt the s.Oliver Baskets Wurzburg which was six months ago remains a sweet memory, but the guard from North Carolina soon after played his last Beko BBL game against the Eisbaeren Bremerhaven and since not played nursing a knee injury. This season for Frankfurt, Gray averaged 16,0ppg, 2,8rpg and 3,5apg and will be headed to Greece. Gray asked the Fraport Skyliners to be removed from his contract and has gotten the green light from the Greek league to continue to play for ENOSI KALATHOSFAIRISIS KAVALAS. 'We tried to get the best solution for the team and me. I liked playing for the team and my relationship to the team is very good. But I asked to be removed from my contract so I can start to play as much as I can once I am fit. I hope the team goes far into the playoffs and it deserves a lot of respect. I will wear my Skyliner jersey and follow the team and root them on', stressed Justin Gray (188-G-84, college: Wake Forest). The Fraport Skyliners did a good job crawling out of the cellar without Gray, but the friendly American will still be dearly missed. 'We got Justin so he would be our point guard. He showed his talent in the pre season. A pity was that he got an injury at the start of the season and had to miss many months. We had to react and got new help on the point guard position. We were waiting for Justin to come back from his injury, but it took a lot longer than we expected. The team had to develop without him. Injuries is the negative part of the sport and this hit Justin. I want to thank Justin for his work here. His prasence, personality and leadership qualities helped us a lot as he was injured. I wish him much success and good health for his future', stressed Sklyiner head coach Muli Katzurin . 'We understand the situation of Justin and he understands our situation. It was a tough season with his injury for us and him. It is a pity that we cant guarentee him the playing time he wants at the moment. He was very professional here and supported the team mentally in tough situations. We want to thank him and that is why we are granting his wish to go', stressed Skyliner sport director Kamil Novak
