With training camp only a few weeks away, LTi Giessen 46er head coach Mathias Fischer continues to trim his roster and today did something for the German youth basketball culture by adding young Germans Jonas Weiser (179-G-93) and Max Pantke (194-F-93) to the roster. Giessen head coach Mathias Fischer has stressed that the club wants to promote youth from that region. Jonas Weiser (179-G-93) is no unknown player to the LTi Giessen family as he is a 19 year old 179cm guard that was able to gain some Beko BBL experience in the last home game of the season against the Telekom Baskets Bonn. The young German played for the LTi Giessen juniors in the NBBL averaging 12,6ppg, 4,2apg and 3,2rpg in 26 minutes per game. "I want to use my chance and work for my minutes in practice. I also want to help stay in the league earlier so we don't have to expereince what happened last season. I worked during the summer with Filip Piljanovic and Usamedin Mehmed and am looking forward to the new season", stressed Jonas Weiser. Max Pankte is a 194cm forward that has the birth year 1993. Last season for the LTi Giessen juniors, he averaged 11,6ppg, and 4,2rpg. "Both guys have to prove in practice what they can do and attack. They are a part of the rotation and can work for minutes. I am happy that we have guys from the region that can prcatice at a high level", stressed Giessen head coach Mathias Fischer.
