The Regular Season in DBBL just started.

Marburg - Wasserburg 54-80

The game without a history. TSV 1880 Wasserburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held BC Pharmaserv Marburg to an opponent 24.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.6 percent accuracy of the winners. American forward Emma Cannon (188-89, college: Cent.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Anne Breitreiner (183-84, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 14 points. Four TSV 1880 Wasserburg players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Samantha Baranowski (190-90, college: Maine) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Margret Skuballa (186-87) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Bamberg - Oberhausen 41-54

The game was mostly controlled by Oberhausen. Don Bosco Bamberg was better in fourth quarter 18-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Don Bosco Bamberg to just 4 points in first quarter and to 12 points in first half. Oberhausen held Don Bosco Bamberg to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Oberhausen forced 21 Don Bosco Bamberg turnovers. International swingman Sarah Austmann (179-85) nailed 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and American center Chanita Jordan (196-87, college: Bowie St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) accounted for 9 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Jessica Miller (173-88, college: Ill.-Chicago) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Don Bosco Bamberg in the defeat.

Heli Girls - Halle 64-58

The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 19-14 SV Halle Lions' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 64-58 at the end of the game. Heli Girls forced 21 SV Halle Lions turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Amanda Rego (170-86, college: San Diego) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Finnish swingman Heta Korpivaara (186-84, college: Seton Hall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Canadian forward Tamara Tatham (185-85, college: Massachusetts) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and Slovakian guard Michaela Abelova (183-85) added 10 points in the effort for SV Halle Lions.

It was a very good performance for American guard Samantha Whitcomb (178, college: Washington) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Latvian center Ieva Kulite (191-88) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Markeshia Grant (167, college: S.Carolina) answered with 19 points and Tongan-American swingman Ofa Tulikihihifo (180-84, college: CS Northridge) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Herner TC. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.

The game was mostly controlled by Osnabruck. Rhein Main Baskets was better in third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osnabruck forced 19 Rhein Main Baskets turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Rhein Main Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a very good performance for guard Jasmine Byrd (173-85, college: NC-Greensboro) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 4 steals. Forward Ali Schwagmeyer (180-90, college: Quincy, agency: Gamble Sports Management) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Anya Covington (187-90, college: Wisconsin) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and forward Tamika Dukes (183-86, college: UAB) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Rhein Main Baskets.
