BG Karlsruhe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kirchheim Knights' 46 and made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kirchheim Knights 38-23 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. BG Karlsruhe looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Kirchheim Knights' players. 25 personal fouls committed by Kirchheim Knights helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center DeWayne Richardson (202-77, college: Fairmont St.) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import forward Jeremy Black (203-85, college: Tampa, agency: Court Side) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). BG Karlsruhe's coach Torsten Daume felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cuxhaven BasCats were ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 33-22 charge of NBC, which allowed them to win the game. NBC had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Cuxhaven BasCats were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players.
