We bring you last week's top performances from Germans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Romy Baer
Romy Baer
#1. This week's number one is an international forward Romy Baer (187-87, currently plays in France). She was the major contributor in Lyon's victory against the closely-ranked Basket Landes (4-3) 60-57 in the French LFB in Saturday night's game. Baer recorded 8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and made 2 blocks in 36 minutes on the court. Union Lyon Basket Feminin (5-2) is placed fourth in the LFB. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Baer averages: 9.9ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 32.6%, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 94.4%(17-18) in the seven games she played so far. She is currently a member of the German senior national team.

Petra Glaser
Petra Glaser
#2. Second place goes to an international power forward Petra Glaser (196-81, college: Long Beach St., currently plays in Sweden). Glaser led Kvarnby to an easy victory against the closely-ranked 08 Stockholm (4-4) crushing them 89-54 in the Swedish Damligan last Wednesday. She recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds. Kvarnby BBK (4-3) is placed fifth in the Damligan. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Glaser has relatively good stats this year: 13.0ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 47.0% and FT: 96.3%(26-27). She played for the German national team in 2011.

Lisa Koop
Lisa Koop
#3. The German player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Lisa Koop (197-85, college: Winthrop, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian A1. Koop could not help one of league's weakest teams Pall.Pozzuoli (1-3) to beat CA Romagna (1-3). She recorded 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 25 minutes. Pall.Pozzuoli was edged 56-54 on the road by the higher-ranked (#9) CA Romagna. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Koop's first year with the team. This season Koop's overall stats are: 4.5ppg, 4.3rpg, 2FGP: 45.0% in the four games. She is also a member of the German senior national team.

Lea Mersch
Lea Mersch
#4. Guard Lea Mersch (170-87, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to help DSK Karlin (2-7) in their game against VSE Praha (5-4) in the Czech Republic ZBL. Mersch's contribution was not very remarkable in Saturday's game. She scored only 2 points. DSK Karlin was crushed 93-66 at home by the higher-ranked VSE Praha (#6). It was DSK Karlin's fifth consecutive loss in a row. Mersch's total stats this season are: 3.3ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.4apg. She used to play for the German national team last year.

Nadine Grieb
Nadine Grieb
#5. Former U20 international center Nadine Grieb (184-87, currently plays in Luxembourg) led AB Contern to a victory against the ninth-ranked Racing 60-51 in the Luxembourg Diekirch League last Saturday. Grieb recorded 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 32 minutes. AB Contern (4-2) is placed third in the Diekirch League. Grieb is ranked fifth on the list of the top scorers in the league with 19.5ppg. This year she also averages: 6.8rpg, 2.5apg and 1.8spg in the six games. Grieb used to play for the German U20 national team five years ago.

Christiane Fischer
Christiane Fischer
#6. Guard Christiane Fischer (168-90, currently plays in Canada) was not able to secure a victory for the Manitoba University (1-1) in their game against the Calgary (1-1) in the Canadian university league CIS. She recorded only 4 points. The Manitoba University (#5) was badly defeated 73-54 in Exshaw by the Calgary. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Fischer's total stats this season are: 4.0ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.5apg. She is a former U20 international player as she played for the German team two years ago.
