Korpivaara
Finnish Heta Korpivaara (186-G/F-84, agency: Regeneracom Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Heli Girls and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 28-year old swingman had a double-double of 26 points and ten rebounds, while her team outclassed Herner (#10, 1-6) with 26-point margin 79-53. Heli Girls maintains the 2nd position in German DBBL. They are still close to the very top. Heli Girls would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 6-1 record. Korpivaara turned to be Heli Girls' top player in her first season with the team. Seton Hall University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Korpivaara is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.1ppg) and averages solid 55.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old Latvian center Ieva Kulite (191-C-88) of Wolfenbuettel. Kulite impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Of course she lead Wolfenbuettel to another comfortable win 77-64 over the lower-ranked Freiburg (4-3) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Wolfenbuettel to move up to 4th position in the standings. Her team's 4-3 record is not bad at all. Kulite is one of the most experienced players at Wolfenbuettel and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Ali Schwagmeyer (180-F-90, agency: Gamble Sports Management) of Osnabruck (#3). Schwagmeyer scored 27 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Osnabruck, leading her team to a 95-91 win against slightly lower-ranked BG 89 Avides (#5, 4-3). Osnabruck needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 2 lost games. Schwagmeyer has a great season in Germany. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.4rpg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Samantha Meissel (188-F/C-88) of BG 89 Avides - 24 points and 12 rebounds
5. Anya Covington (187-F-90) of Rhein MB - 17 points and 11 rebounds
6. Angela Pace (178-G-87) of Osnabruck - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Tamara Tatham (185-F-85) of Halle - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Margret Skuballa (186-F-87) of Marburg - 23 points and 7 rebounds
9. Samantha Whitcomb (178-G) of Wolfenbuettel - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Brett Benzio (190-C-90) of Bamberg - 13 points and 13 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
