The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Duesseldorf Baskets as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Duesseldorf Baskets defeated 8th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 at home 83-69. The game without a history. Duesseldorf Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Duesseldorf Baskets outrebounded BV Chemnitz 99 33-22. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Liberian forward Patrick Flomo (203-80, college: Ohio) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Croatian guard Marin Petric (190-80) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American guard John Bynum (191-78, college: Metro St.) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds for BV Chemnitz 99. Duesseldorf Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. BV Chemnitz 99 at the other side dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. BV Chemnitz 99 will play next round against strong MLP Academics Heidelberg trying to get back on the winning streak. Duesseldorf Baskets will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Finke Baskets in Paderborn.
Leading BG Goettingen (7-3) recorded its third loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by third ranked BG Karlsruhe (7-3) 74-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of BG Goettingen. It was a key game for the second position in the league. American point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT, agency: Limelight Hoops) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jeremy Black chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American guard Akeem Vargas (191-90, college: Iowa Lakes CC) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds. BG Goettingen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BG Karlsruhe moved-up to second place, which they share with Goettingen. BG Karlsruhe will play against Oettinger Rockets Gotha (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. BG Goettingen will play against NBC (#8) in Nurnberg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Vechta between Science City Jena and SC Rasta Vechta. Tenth ranked Science City Jena (5-5) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked SC Rasta Vechta (5-4). Science City Jena managed to escape with a 1-point win 99-98 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of SC Rasta Vechta. Aurimas Adomaitis notched 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 26 points and 5 rebounds by A.J. Rudowitz did not help to save the game for SC Rasta Vechta. SC Rasta Vechta's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Science City Jena have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted SC Rasta Vechta dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Science City Jena will meet at home Crailsheim Merlins (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kirchheim Knights' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (#16) at home where they are favorite. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Science City Jena.
