There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Fifteenth-ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (3-8) gave a tough game to second ranked BG Karlsruhe (8-3) on Saturday. The visitors from Karlsruhe managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-77. BG Karlsruhe shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was a great evening for American forward Jeremy Black (203-85, college: Tampa, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Rouven Roessler (200-80) helped adding 20 points. American guard Chase Griffin (188-83, college: Pepperdine) responded with 22 points. Oettinger Rockets Gotha's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BG Karlsruhe maintains second place with 8-3 record behind leader Duesseldorf, which they share with Goettingen. Newly promoted Oettinger Rockets Gotha dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Leipzig and Crailsheim. BG Karlsruhe is looking forward to face NBC (#11) in Nurnberg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will play on the road against SC Rasta Vechta and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
MLP Academics Heidelberg (#4) was upset in Chemnitz by seventh ranked BV Chemnitz 99 77-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of MLP Academics Heidelberg. It was an exceptional evening for American center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Jorge Schmidt accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Kai Barth (188-89) came up with 13 points and 9 assists for MLP Academics Heidelberg in the defeat. BV Chemnitz 99 (6-5) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Cuxhaven and Jena. MLP Academics Heidelberg at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against Finke Baskets in Paderborn and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked USC Leipzig managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of two consecutive loses on Saturday night. This time newly promoted USC Leipzig edged thirteenth-ranked Kirchheim Knights 96-94. The best player for the winners was Nikita Khartchenkov who scored 33 points (!!!). Chris Alexander produced 23 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Kirchheim Knights' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. USC Leipzig (3-8) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Gotha and Crailsheim. Loser Kirchheim Knights dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with ETB Wohnbau. USC Leipzig will meet at home higher ranked Science City Jena (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kirchheim Knights will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#9) in Allmendingen and hope to secure a win.
ProA top team - Duesseldorf Baskets (9-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked Finke Baskets (5-6) in Paderborn 87-78.
