There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Fifteenth-ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (3-8) gave a tough game to second ranked BG Karlsruhe (8-3) on Saturday. The visitors from Karlsruhe managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-77. BG Karlsruhe shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was a great evening for American forward Jeremy Black (203-85, college: Tampa, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Rouven Roessler (200-80) helped adding 20 points. American guard Chase Griffin (188-83, college: Pepperdine) responded with 22 points. Oettinger Rockets Gotha's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BG Karlsruhe maintains second place with 8-3 record behind leader Duesseldorf, which they share with Goettingen.
