The game had a very big importance for third-ranked BG Goettingen as it allowed them to take a leadership position. BG Goettingen defeated 8th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 at home 76-69. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 22-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. BG Goettingen forced 20 BV Chemnitz 99 turnovers. 33 personal fouls committed by BV Chemnitz 99 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was naturalized American guard Akeem Vargas (191-90, college: Iowa Lakes CC) who scored 22 points. Greek-American guard Nicholas Livas (198-87, college: Ill.-Springfield) chipped in 9 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) who recorded 11 points and 9 rebounds. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Duesseldorf and Karlsruhe. BV Chemnitz 99 at the other side keeps the eighth place with six games lost. They share the position with Finke Baskets and Ehingen. BV Chemnitz 99 will play next round against strong BG Karlsruhe trying to get back on the winning streak. BG Goettingen will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Finke Baskets in Paderborn.
Top ranked Duesseldorf Baskets (9-3) recorded its third loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (7-5) 94-89. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Duesseldorf Baskets. Cuxhaven BasCats moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Jena. Duesseldorf Baskets at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Goettingen and Karlsruhe. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#7) at home in the next round. Duesseldorf Baskets will play against Kirchheim Knights (#14) and hope to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Allmendingen between Ehingen/Urspringschule and Kirchheim Knights. Ninth ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (6-6) got a very close home victory over 12th ranked Kirchheim Knights (4-8). Ehingen/Urspringschule managed to escape with a 2-point win 68-66 on Sunday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Virgil Matthews who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Chris Alexander with 20 points. Kirchheim Knights' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ehingen/Urspringschule moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Finke Baskets and Chemnitz. Loser Kirchheim Knights keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with ETB Wohnbau and Crailsheim. Ehingen/Urspringschule will meet higher ranked Science City Jena (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. NBC was defeated by Karlsruhe in a road game 95-86. Bottom-ranked Leipzig was beaten by Jena at home 90-97. Gotha lost to Vechta on the opponent's court 72-86.
The best stats of 12th round was 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by Harry Marshall of Leipzig.

Duesseldorf - Cuxhaven 89-94

Top ranked Duesseldorf Baskets (9-3) recorded its third loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (7-5) 94-89. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Duesseldorf Baskets. Cuxhaven BasCats moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Jena. Duesseldorf Baskets at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Goettingen and Karlsruhe. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#7) at home in the next round. Duesseldorf Baskets will play against Kirchheim Knights (#14) and hope to get back on the winning track.

Strangely Kirchheim Knights outrebounded Ehingen/Urspringschule 41-24 including 16 on the offensive glass.
