He spoke to eurobasket before the game against the Lti Giessen 46ers.

ratipharm Ulm had last weekend off as there was no game on the Beko BBL schedule. Thorsten Leibenath gave the team some time off. You spent some time in my favorite German city Hamburg. What did you enjoy most from this city?

Well we didnt go up there for the weather. We took my son on a boat tour, went to the Christmas markets and visited St. Michael's church. It was good to visit a new German city and to rest a bit.

After losing to Frankfurt and Bamberg, the club marched back and won convincingly in Bayreuth. What changes did the team make in getting the win in Bayreuth?

It was difficult giving up the lead to Bamberg and losing in the last seconds. We upped our intensity on defense and controlled the glass against Bayreuth.

ratiopharm Ulm only gave up 59 points in Bayreuth after letting up an average 76 points in the last three games before that. What did the team do better on the defensive end in Bayreuth?

Just brought more intensity at every position. Our help side was better as well.

The next game is against 18th ranked LTi Giessen 46ers. What memories do you have from playing in Giessen the last years with Ludwigsburg, Tuebingen and Ulm?

It is always a tough game and a good atmosphere in Giessen. I didn't have the opportunity to play there last year because of injury so I am looking forward to it this year.

What will be most important in winning in Giessen besides not underestimating them?

We need to have defensive intensity for 40 minutes, they shoot a high % from 3 and we need to make those shots difficult.

What is always the most difficult thing in defending a Elvir Ovcina?

He is a crafty passer, with his height he can shoot over the top of you or find the pass to cutters.

How cruel can the NBA be? After starting his first game for the New York Knicks and scoring 29 points, Chris Copeland gets sent down to the D league the next day.
How confident are you that he will be back soon?

I dont know what the situation is with him. He has played well with his opportunities this year, good to see him having success. Maybe they want him to get more
playing time in the D league???

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

The Hobbit, I wish that they didn't make it into a trilogy.

Thanks Dane for the chat.

The Fraport Skyliners Juniors Don't Find Themselves Yet Go From The Photo Shoot To The Court Losing To Giessen 69-66 - 9 hours ago
It seemed like ages ago when the Fraport Skyliners Juniors last played an official Pro B home game as one has to go back more than six months ago where they actually beat Lok Bernau 76-61, but didn't return back home as they were unable to move on in the playoffs as they were manhandled 88-59 in the do or die game in Bernau thus ending their season. The loss in Bernau also happened to be the last games for some key players last season as sniper sharp shooter Travis Thompson went east to t...   [read more]
