American guard Mark Dorris (188-G-85, agency: Court Side) had a very impressive game in the last round for Phoenix Hagen, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15. The 27-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, four rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Neckar L'burg (#18, 4-11) with 21-point margin 89-68. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on the top of the standings. Phoenix Hagen is placed at 10th position in German BBL. Phoenix Hagen is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-8 record. In the team's last game Dorris had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Mark Dorris averages this season 10.9ppg.
The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old American Chad Timberlake (194-G-84) of MBC. Timberlake had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 10 assists. It was enough for MBC to edge the lower-ranked LTi 46ers (#17, 4-11) 93-88. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But MBC managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 13th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-9 record. Timberlake is a newcomer at MBC, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Anthony King (206-F/C-85, agency: Interperformances) of Art.Dragons (#5). King scored 14 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Art.Dragons, leading his team to a 85-75 win against the lower-ranked NY Phantoms (#12, 6-9). Art.Dragons needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 6 lost games. King has a great season in Germany. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 6.8rpg (5th best).
