Pro B newcomer Bochum hands contract extension to Ryon Howard - May 25, 2013
Ryon Howard has agreed a contract extension to remain with the Bochum Astro Stars who will be playing in the 2. Bundesliga Pro B in the 2013-14 season. Thus, the Bronx, NY, native will enter his third year in Bochum.
Howard led the team to the 2012-13 1. Regionalliga West championship and received Eurobasket.com All-German Regionalliga West Player of the Year just recently. He averaged 18.1 points and 9.5 boards a game for the Astro Stars last season

The club announced that the Lithuanian big man will play for the Eagles in the 2013-14 season and plans to stay beyond 2014. Galkauskas had 21 RLN appearances for Itzehoe last season, averaging 14.6 points as well as 6.7 rebounds per contest and was named Eurobasket.com All-German Regionalliga North Honorable Mention.

The biggest achievements for the 1993 German European champion was reaching the Beko BBL final in 2008 and 2009 losing to Alba Berlin and EWE Baskets Oldenburg and two Beko BBL Top appearnaces in 2009 and 2012.
