German ProB round 13 best performance: Johannes Voigtmann - Jan 7, 2013

Johannes
Voigtmann
Center Johannes Voigtmann (208-C-92, agency: Limelight Hoops) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Fraport SKY II, receiving a Eurobasket.com ProB Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 20-year old player had a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds, while his team outclassed Bayer Giants (#7, 6-7) with 40-point margin 107-67. Fraport SKY II is placed at 5th position in German ProB. Fraport SKY II is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-6 record. In the team's last game Voigtmann had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Fraport SKY II's top player in his first season with the team. Johannes Voigtmann averages this season 12.7ppg and 8.4rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 29-year old American Andrew Jones (191-SG-83) of Dresden. Jones had a very good evening with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he lead Dresden to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Konstanz (#11, 3-10) 91-71. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in South. Dresden keeps 9th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-7 record. Jones is a newcomer at Dresden, but is already one of team's top players. Former Miles College star Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Till-Joscha Joenke (190-PG-92) of league's second-best Weissenhorn. Joenke got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . Despite Joenke's great performance Weissenhorn lost 81-89 to the lower-ranked Leitershofen (#10, 5-8). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Weissenhorn needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in South. Their record is 8 victories and 5 lost games. Joenke has a very solid season. In 13 games in Germany he scored 18.2ppg. He also has 6.8rpg and 3.6apg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Michael Haucke (210-C-85) of Stahnsdorf - 15 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Jason Boucher (180-G-80) of Dresden - 26 points and 4 assists
6. Julius Coles (193-SG-89) of Schwelm - 26 points and 3 rebounds
7. Howard Sant-Roos (200-SF-91) of SU Medien - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Geddes Robinson (195-PF-87) of Dragons - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Nate Gerwig (206-F/C-83) of BSW Sixers - 19 points and 9 rebounds
10. Sebastian Schroter (207-PF-83) of Schwelm - 20 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
