BG Halstenbek/Pinneberg has been struggling throughout its first season in the 1. Regionalliga. The newcomer has solely won a single game so far this season and is battling to avoid a last-place finish, which would relegate the team to the 2. Regionalliga. Player/head coach Zoran Krezic (190-G-79), who appeared in 19 BBL games for Wuerzburg in the 2001-2002 season, has been busy handling both jobs, coaching his team and running the point during the games. Therefore the 33-year-old decided to focus on playing in the remainder of the season, according to abendblatt.de. He is currently averaging 3.8 points, 1.9 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 1 steal per contest (8 games played this season) and thinks to better help his team as a player then as a coach in the current situation. Coaching duties will be handled by Mario Protuder, who just like Krezic originally hails from Banja Luka, Bosnia, and has been living in Germany since the early 90s.
