An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Halle. Third ranked SV Halle Lions faced second-best Heli Girls. Host SV Halle Lions (9-3) defeated guests from Noerdlingen (9-3) 65-58. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 42-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Tamara Tatham (185-85, college: Massachusetts) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American point guard Daphanie Kennedy (175-86, college: Pepperdine) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Morgan Henderson (185-88, college: San Diego) who recorded 18 points. SV Halle Lions have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Heli Girls. SV Halle Lions is looking forward to face Don Bosco Bamberg (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Heli Girls will play against Eisvogel Freiburg (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Oberhausen managed to get a third victory. This time they outleveled tenth-ranked Don Bosco Bamberg 69-45. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference suggests that Oberhausen is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. It was a good game for American center Chanita Jordan (196-87, college: Bowie St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) who led her team to a victory with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Birte Thimm contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds for Don Bosco Bamberg. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Oberhausen (3-9) moved-up to tenth place. Don Bosco Bamberg lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Herner. Oberhausen will play against higher ranked Osnabruck (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Don Bosco Bamberg will play against the league's second-placed SV Halle Lions (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
Leader TSV 1880 Wasserburg delivered the tenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 6th ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (6-6) 71-58. Worth to mention a quality performance of Emma Cannon who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Martha White with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-2 record. BC Pharmaserv Marburg at the other side dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. TSV 1880 Wasserburg will meet bottom-ranked Herner TC (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will play against Rhein Main Baskets (#9) in Langen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Wolfenbuettel. Local Wildcats Wolfenbuettel (8-4) outscored 11th ranked Herner TC (2-10) 88-63. The winners were led by Ieva Kulite who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 8-4 record. Herner TC lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom place with ten games lost. Wildcats Wolfenbuettel's next round opponent will be Rotenburg/Scheessel (#8) on the road. Herner TC will play against the league's leader TSV 1880 Wasserburg (#1).

In the last two games of round 12 Osnabruck defeated Rhein MB in a road game 70-65. Freiburg beat BG 89 Avides at home 76-68.

Rhein MB - Osnabruck 65-70

There was no surprise in Langen where 9th ranked Rhein Main Baskets (4-8) were defeated by seventh ranked Osnabruck (7-5) 70-65. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-15. But Rhein Main Baskets won second period 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osnabruck made 31-of-41 charity shots (75.6 percent) during the game, while Rhein Main Baskets only scored fifteen points from the stripe. Osnabruck forced 26 Rhein Main Baskets turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Rhein Main Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American forward Ali Schwagmeyer (180-90, college: Quincy, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 22 rebounds and the other American import guard Angela Pace (178-87, college: Robert Morris) supported her with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Denise Beliveau (180-89, college: New Hampshire) did not help to save the game for Rhein Main Baskets. International forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) added 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Osnabruck moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Freiburg. Rhein Main Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost.
