Coincidentally all visitors won their games.

The game between third ranked Heli Girls (9-4) and sixth ranked Eisvogel Freiburg (8-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Heli Girls were defeated by Eisvogel Freiburg in a tough game in Noerdlingen 76-80. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But Heli Girls won second period 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eisvogel Freiburg forced 23 Heli Girls turnovers. American swingman Brooque Williams (176, college: California, PA) fired 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Her fellow American import forward Mariesa Greene (183-87, college: Barry) chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds. Finnish swingman Heta Korpivaara (186-84, college: Seton Hall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced 19 points for lost side. Eisvogel Freiburg have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Heli Girls lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with Wolfenbuettel. Eisvogel Freiburg are looking forward to face Don Bosco Bamberg (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Heli Girls will play against Wildcats Wolfenbuettel (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Leader TSV 1880 Wasserburg delivered the eleventh victory. This time they crushed 12th ranked Herner TC (2-11) 93-71. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Emma Cannon (188-89, college: Cent.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Anne Breitreiner contributed with 24 points for the winners. American forward Teya Wright (185-89, college: Providence) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds for Herner TC. Herner TC's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-2 record. Herner TC lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. They share it with Bamberg. TSV 1880 Wasserburg will play against Rotenburg/Scheessel (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Herner TC will play against Rhein Main Baskets in Langen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Rotenburg was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Wildcats Wolfenbuettel (9-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (5-8). Wildcats Wolfenbuettel defeated Rotenburg/Scheessel 78-62 on Saturday. Samantha Whitcomb stepped up and scored 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Vanessa House responded with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Heli Girls. Rotenburg/Scheessel lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Wildcats Wolfenbuettel will meet at home Heli Girls (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Rotenburg/Scheessel will play against the league's leader TSV 1880 Wasserburg (#1) and hope to secure a win.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Osnabruck, where higher ranked Osnabruck (6-7) lost at home to tenth ranked Oberhausen (4-9) 52-68. Chanita Jordan nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 24 rebounds for the winning side. Oberhausen maintains tenth place with 4-9 record. Newly promoted Osnabruck keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Oberhausen's next round opponent will be league's second-placed SV Halle Lions on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

In the last two games of round 13 Halle defeated Bamberg in a road game 72-67. Marburg was beaten by Rhein MB at home 70-75.



Osnabruck - Oberhausen 52-68

We should mention about the upset which took place in Osnabruck, where higher ranked Osnabruck (6-7) lost at home to tenth ranked Oberhausen (4-9) 52-68. The game was mostly controlled by Oberhausen. Osnabruck was better in third quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Osnabruck to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Osnabruck 45-32 including 35 on the offensive glass. American center Chanita Jordan (196-87, college: Bowie St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 24 rebounds for the winning side and Dutch forward Sharon Beld (184-88) accounted for 16 points. Four Oberhausen players scored in double figures. Center Jessica Hootmann (190-85) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Angela Pace (178-87, college: Robert Morris) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Osnabruck in the defeat. Oberhausen maintains tenth place with 4-9 record. Newly promoted Osnabruck keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Oberhausen's next round opponent will be league's second-placed SV Halle Lions on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

It looked good early as Herner TC took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then TSV 1880 Wasserburg had a 28-10 second period charge getting the lead and Herner TC was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-93. TSV 1880 Wasserburg made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. TSV 1880 Wasserburg outrebounded Herner TC 35-22 including 27 on the offensive glass. Herner TC was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 19-13 run, which allowed them to win the game. Canadian forward Tamara Tatham (185-85, college: Massachusetts) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and American point guard Daphanie Kennedy (175-86, college: Pepperdine) accounted for 12 points. Five SV Halle Lions players scored in double figures. American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Don Bosco Bamberg in the defeat. Don Bosco Bamberg's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Rhein Main Baskets made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by BC Pharmaserv Marburg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Denise Beliveau (180-89, college: New Hampshire) nailed 18 points for the winning side and guard Alyssa Karel (170-89, college: Wisconsin) accounted for 18 points. 2.Bundesliga newcomer TSV Krofdorf/Gleiberg Giessen added to their roster American forward Bra'Shey Ali (183). She just graduated from Thomas University (NAIA). As mentioned above Ali is just out of the college and it will be her first season as a pro. Ali was also voted NAIA D2 All-America Honorable Mention in 2016 at her last year at college.
