Germany seems to be a place where Marqus Blakely (196-F-89, college: Vermont) has not had much luck on the basketball court. He no longer will strap on the Neckar Riesen jersey. The Beko BBL club announced today that Marqus Blakely has decided to leave the club on account of family reasons. Blakely is a 196cm forward from New Jersey that was acquired by the Telekom Baskets Bonn recently, but didnt stay there either. H ethen went to Ludwigsburg. With Ludwigsburg the American played two games averaging 9,0ppg, 5,5rpg and 2,5apg.

Pro B newcomer Bochum hands contract extension to Ryon Howard - May 25, 2013

Ryon Howard has agreed a contract extension to remain with the Bochum Astro Stars who will be playing in the 2. Bundesliga Pro B in the 2013-14 season. Thus, the Bronx, NY, native will enter his third year in Bochum. Howard led the team to the 2012-13 1. Regionalliga West championship and received Eurobasket.com All-German Regionalliga West Player of the Year just recently. Galkauskas staying with RLN team Itzehoe Eagles - four players leaving - May 25, 2013

Aivaras Galkauskas (203-C-91) has committed his future to 1. Regionalliga North outfit SC Itzehoe. The club announced that the Lithuanian big man will play for the Eagles in the 2013-14 season and plans to stay beyond 2014. Galkauskas had 21 RLN appearances for Itzehoe last season, averaging 14.6 points as well as 6.7 rebounds per contest and was named Eurobasket.com All-German Regionalliga North Honorable Mention. The Telekom Baskets Bonn And Head Coach Michael Koch Separate - May 25, 2013

On the court Michael Koch was a German basketball legend being one of the few players to win an Euroleague title and for some Bonn fans he leaves the club as a mini coaching legend as well. He may never have won atitle behind the bench, but he stood for consistency and more often than not led the team into the beko BBL playoffs.
