American guard Lindsey Hughey (190-G-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for Leitershofen, receiving a Eurobasket.com ProB Player of the Week award for round 17. The 23-year old player recorded a triple-double of 24 points addeding also 13 rebounds and 11 assists, while his team edged out Noerdlingen (#4, 10-7) 96-92. Leitershofen maintains the 8th position in German ProB. Leitershofen is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-9 record. In the team's last game Hughey had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Leitershofen's top player in his first season with the team. Lindsey Hughey averages this season 18.2ppg and 6.4rpg. Worth to mention Hughey played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
The second best player in last round's games was another Leitershofen's star - 25-year old American James Washington (182-G-87, agency: FCM). Washington had a very good evening with 36 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. It was enough for Leitershofen to edge the higher-ranked Noerdlingen (#4, 10-7) 96-92. Leitershofen's 8th position in South has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-9 record. Washington is a newcomer at Leitershofen, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Geddes Robinson (195-PF-87, agency: SDJ Sports) of league's top team Dragons. Robinson scored 18 points and grabbed twenty one rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Dragons, leading his team to a 82-69 easy win against the lower-ranked Dresden (#10, 6-11). Dragons confirms their top position in South Robinson has a great season in Germany. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.8rpg (#1 in league).
