We bring you last week's top performances from Germans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Petra Glaser
Petra Glaser
#1. This week's number one is former international power forward Petra Glaser (196-81, college: Long Beach St., currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Damligan. She could not help Kvarnby (9-11) in their last game. Despite Glaser's good performance Kvarnby was badly defeated 91-74 on the road by the higher-ranked (#5) Udominate. She had a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 10 rebounds. Glaser also added 5 assists in 29 minutes on the court. It was Kvarnby's first loss after three consecutive victories. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Glaser has relatively good stats this year: 12.7ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 46.8%, 3FGP: 9.1% and FT: 84.0% in the 20 games she played so far. She played for the German senior national team two years ago.

Lea Mersch
Lea Mersch
#2. Second place goes to former international guard Lea Mersch (170-87, currently plays in Czech Republic). Mersch contributed to a DSK Karlin's surprising victory against the fifth-ranked Kara Trutnov (11-10) 85-79 in the Czech Republic ZBL last Saturday. She scored 9 points and added 3 assists. DSK Basketball Karlin (4-17) is placed second from the bottom (#11) in the ZBL. They ended the series of six consecutive loses. Mersch's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. This season Mersch averages: 5.4ppg, 3.4rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 31.9% and FT: 63.3%. She played for the German national team in 2011.

Mara Greunke
Mara Greunke
#3. The German player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international power forward Mara Greunke (185-91, currently plays in Canada). Greunke was not able to help the Western Ontario (9-8) in their game against the Windsor (14-3) in the Canadian university league CIS. She was the second best scorer with 9 points. Greunke also added 5 rebounds in 27 minutes. But the Western Ontario (#4) was crushed 78-49 on the opponent's court by the Windsor. It's Greunke's first season with the team. This year her overall stats are: 5.1ppg, 3.9rpg, 2FGP: 50.7% and FT: 66.7% in the 17 games. Greunke played for the German U20 national team three years ago.

Despite her very good performance the third-placed AB Contern was defeated 74-61 in Ettelbruck by the lower-ranked Etzella (#3) in the Places 1-6 group. Grieb recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 11 rebounds. Grieb is currently seventh on the list of top scorers. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Grieb averages: 18.4ppg, 8.9rpg, 2.4apg and 1.6spg. She used to play for the German U20 national team back in 2007.

Christiane Fischer
#5. Former U20 international guard Christiane Fischer (168-90, currently plays in Canada) couldn't help the Manitoba University (13-6) in their game against the Alberta (14-4) in the Canadian CIS. Fischer recorded only 4 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 31 minutes. The Manitoba University (#3) was badly defeated 67-48 in Edmonton by the Alberta. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This year Fischer's total stats are: 3.3ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4spg in the 17 games. She used to play for the German U20 national team three years ago.
