German BBL round 22 best performance: Robert Vaden - Feb 11, 2013

Robert Vaden
American swingman Robert Vaden (196-G/F-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for Telekom Baskets, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (32 pointseight assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Ratiopharm (#3, 14-7) 99-94. Telekom Baskets is placed at 7th position in German BBL. Telekom Baskets is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-10 record. In the team's last game Vaden had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Telekom Baskets' top player in his first season with the team. Robert Vaden averages this season 13.4ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old American John Bryant (208-C-87) of Ratiopharm. Bryant had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Ratiopharm lost that game 94-99 to the lower-ranked Telekom Baskets (#7, 11-10). This loss caused Ratiopharm to drop to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 14-7 record is not bad at all. Bryant is one of the most experienced players at Ratiopharm and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#2). He also registered 10.2 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Nate Linhart (201-F-86) of TBB Trier (#10). Linhart scored 18 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Linhart's great performance TBB Trier lost 81-84 to the lower-ranked NY Phantoms (#16, 7-14). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of TBB Trier ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Linhart could help TBB Trier to bring them higher in the standings. Linhart has a very solid season. In 21 games in Germany he scored 11.0ppg. Linhart attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Keaton Nankivil (203-F-89) of Ratiopharm - 20 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Cameron Wells (185-PG-88) of Walter Tigers - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Tyrese Rice (185-PG-87) of B.Muenchen - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Johannes Lischka (203-PF-87) of Walter Tigers - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Jimmy McKinney (192-G-83) of s.Oliver Baskets - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Casey Jacobsen (198-G/F-81) of Brose Bask. - 18 points and 6 assists
10. Lucca Staiger (196-SG-88) of Neckar L'burg - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

It's Another Normal Day At The Office For Aaron Nelson As He And The Dragons Rhondorf Destroy BG Karlsruhe 87-70 - 5 hours ago

The last time that fans could depart the always loud Dragons Dome with a smile on their faces and still enough time to spare to get home and watch the ZDF Sportschau to catch the football scores was Janaury 2nd, 2016 as Rhondorf had smacked around Rent4Office 83-65 which was only one of two wins in a season to forget as the club stunk up the Pro A and crawled back to the Pro B with their heads in bags as the embarrassment was difficult to hide. The last home game was a little more than si...   [read more]
